At my office, there is a woman there that has been with the company for 11 years. She loves to start drama and cause trouble between other employees. She is rude to our customers and has complaints about her all the time. I often wonder how she's made it there all this time without someone saying something to her or her getting fired or at least written up. Do you work with someone like that?

As far as I can remember i have that kind of co worker before when i still work in a small delivery company. The secretary is someone to be feared because she got a loud mouth and would report all the employees wrong doing even it's not that serious. She wont accept any explanation at all and consider other worker as slave to do her bidding's. I only stay for one month in that job.
That secretary is relative to the owner so it's hard or impossible to fire her because the owner trusted her. She got the attitude of a boss and yet she is only a mere secretary.

Actually I'm not employed or part time working but in your case, it is possible that this person os somewhat related to the company owner or something like that. I mean, it is impossible on the society we live making a career based on this lame behavior.
Being polite count a lot.
