Do you wish your baby stayed a baby for a long time? |
|
I find that a lot of moms I know wish their babies stayed babies forever. They often speak of the baby stages they miss and oh their kids are growing up way too fast! How do you feel about it?
I miss some of those cute and cuddly times. But I must admit I love that my little girl (who is 4) is growing up and it's exciting to watch her continue to develop - I celebrate her independence! I love that we can have a conversation, and she has her own mind. She has her own interests - some that we share - some that are uniquely her own. She is independent about a lot of things, and doesn't need mommy or daddy to do everything for her. I love that she has become her own person and I'm very proud that my little girl is becoming a big girl - she's growing up!

2. littleone3 (1315) | 4 months ago | Although I enjoyed my children as babies I did not wish that they stayed that way. My youngest is three and I love the way he is he is such a cheeky and happy little boy and I am able to have a conversation with him now as he is forming his own views and opinions. I enjoy this stage as they are so chatty and some of the things they come out with make me laugh so much.

3. Raven7317 (313) | 4 months ago | Good Afternoon! Yes, I would say I wish my little guy wasn't growing up so fast! He just turned 4 in August and every single day, his dad and I are amazed at how wonderfully LITTLE BOY his is! I do miss when he was an infant though... I miss the sweet smell of him, I miss him sleeping in my arms, I miss walking him in a stroller, I miss how simple life was when he was so little... My favorite age was when he was about 11 months old... He was just starting to walk and babble that sweet baby talk! BUT - I can't express how proud I am of him now - he's getting so big and he's so smart! He has the most wonderful little personality and I love being with him just as much now as I did then, just in different ways. All too soon, he will not be my little boy anymore. (Sigh)

5. dorannmwin (2400) | 4 months ago | My children are now going on seven years old and my youngest will be three in just a couple of weeks. I can't say that I wish that they stayed babies forever, even though I just love that stage where the kids had total dependence on me. What I can say is I wish that it didn't seem like that stage of their lives flew by so fast. It seemed like in just a blink of my eye my daughter had gone from this tiny little being (6lbs 15oz) at birth to a little toddler who was wondering around the house and getting into everything. She started walking when she was only nine months old. As far as my son and my niece who are within two months of the same age, I wish they could have stayed little a lot longer because when one of them started doing something, they both did. What I mean is when Paul started walking so did Lilliana and that quickly led to double trouble. It was just like having twins with both of them in the same house. I miss the stage of them being babies, but I also really like to see the shadows of the man and woman that they are going to become.

6. jodylee_04530 (546) | 4 months ago | For me I like watching my two children grow up. Each stage has its perks and downfalls. If my babies stayed babies forever I would miss out on so many amazing moments. I will always look back on the baby stage with fond memories, but no, I would not want them to stay there forever. Babies are meant to grow up, that is what they do! I like it that way!

7. Wizzywig (2871) | 4 months ago | No, I wouldn't have wanted them to stay as little new babies. Once they started talking, having their own personalities etc was brilliant. However, though I miss having them around at home and their 20+ years seem to have gone so fast, I am incredibly proud of them both and they are not just my sons but my great friends too.

9. sender621 (853) | 4 months ago | My two children are teenagers now. There are definitely days when I wish i could turn back time and make them babies once again. I'm telling you, they would never leave their cribs. I hear people talk about the good old days. For me this would be the long ago days when my children were still in diapers and were not walking and talking yet. I love my children but they were easier to handle when they were babies!

| 10. jremolacio (28) | 4 months ago | Hello! I have a 3 yrs old daughter and NO i don't wish she stays as a baby, maybe if i wish something, is that, she stay as a toddler but not a baby. Because when she was a baby we cannot do anything, she is just sleeping, sometimes she will smile if you do something funny to her, but toddler yrs are very fun!I can talk to her, play with her, i can still cuddle with her and she can already appreciate things. She can tell you what she wants, I can see her developments and it really excite me to see what she will become when she grows up. I really love bringing her wherever i go because i am amazed with her expressions and her innocent questions. But of course, she will grow up, but she will be my baby forever.

malamar (474) | 4 months ago | Although I do love babies, I am and always have been completely enamoured with the toddler years. The ages of about 3 - 5 when they start communicating and developing their own personalities are amazing. They grow so quickly, as do the grandchildren yet to come for many of you.
No matter what stage your child is in, enjoy it. It will pass in the mere blink of an eye.
