Final Fantasy was released in Japan in 1987 and in North America in 1990.It introduced many concepts to the console RPG genre, and has since been remade on several platforms.Final Fantasy II, released in 1988 in Japan, has been bundled with Final Fantasy in several re-releases.The last of the NES installments, Final Fantasy III, was released in Japan in 1990;however, it was not released elsewhere until a Nintendo DS remake in 2006.

| | | 2. firstcontact1990 (982) | 3 months ago |  I have played everything from FFVII to FFXII, and I did play VI for a very short while, but didnt like it (UK). Anyway,I think, before VII (7), im not interested, and FF series really went down hill after X (10), and although X-2, and XII were ok, I think, VII and VIII (7 or 8), will always be the best Final Fantasies ever. Although FInal Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus was great. Anyway, I dont think they should make a new one, unless, the concept is, that characters from 7, 8, 9 and 10 somehow meet, mabye something to do with a powerful monster, I dont know. But I think, Squar Enix will more than likely make another, but personally, the novelty has worn off, and I will only ever play 7, 8, 9 and 10, mabye X-2 and XII although, I may have to play IX (9), because I actually, never completed it.

Final Fantasy versus 13 is coming out as well but it is an action rpg made from the gameplay team of kingdom hearts. There is also Final FRantasy Agito 13 for the psp. Then there is final fantasy 14 online. And the inevitability of them remaking final fantasy 7.
