I have seen that cute movie too. Aside from the what you said, I think think it is also about letting go and appreciating what is in front of you. I almost bawled when he got rid of his things, including his and his wife's chairs, so that he could go after Russell

i also watched this movie and i appreciate it a lot...
the movie is quite entertaining for me and yes touching...it teaches us many lessons in life like what you have said...and it also teaches us about acceptance and letting go...just like what rainegurl there said...
and i think it shows that we need to live for the present and not for the past...and the best thing to keep our loved one's memory is to keep them in our heart...
and its shows a great love story...a story o true love...

The movie 'UP' is another brilliant creation from PIXAR's after Wall.e...I watched UP in 2D on my PC and really loved it...2 weeks back it released in INDIA in 3D and i watched it the very 1st day even though i had already seen it before..the story is well woven and the characters of the old man Carl and the younge cute boy Russel are very well etched..The movie starts with younger Carl and his love story with his wife and then she dies and he becomes a loner..thats nicely depicted in the movie..also the movie focusses on too much of construction going on nowadays which has resulted in the loss of natural habitat..The movie is indeed terrific and at teh same tym thought provoking..must watch for animation lovers:)

Oh, this film has not yet arrived where I'm living, I'll have to wait more two weeks:( Oh boy, I'm really anxious to see this one, the trailer seems so nice:)

I never have seen this movie, myself, but it sounds like a good one. I don't go to the theatre that much. I probably go about once in a blue moon when something really good is going to be on. There are just so many that are not fit to see any more. Like I said, though, this one sounds really good and I hope it won't be long before it's in my area.
We don't have a dollar cinema here in Jasper. I wish we did because money is so tight here at my house. Kathy.

Some of my friends took their children to see the movie. It is rare that they do because much of the movies are not what you want children to see - and when we went to the Mall on Wednesday, I hoped to see it was already on DVD because I have some friends with children and also my granddaughter and that would be one movie I went to own. But I guess I have to wait.
Besides the idea of an old man having a house rise via a whole lot of balloons rather appeals to my sense of imagination.
I am not interested in the lessons of having to cope, etc. That would make it boring since the idea of going to see a cartoon movie is escapism in my opinion.
I do have a gift certificate for Best Buy so I will see if it is there, but the certificate is only good until December. If not, i will see if they have Chicken Run. I kind of love that movie.

I took my kids to this movie a while back. I can appreciate the idea of learning how to cope after the lose of a loved one but I was not impressed with this movie. I had a hard time keeping my children interested in this movie as well. I felt the story drug on way longer than it needed to. I found myself losing interest as well. I usually like Pixar film but was disappointed in this one.

you said that it is a goOd movie. Maybe if i have a time to watch it. I wilL try. I watch the trailer in a site. I think the drawing, the animation and the voice use in character is good.
