out of these three foods, what would you choose? |
Let's say you're locked in a special room and only had one choice of these three foods-- chocolate, honey or strawberries--which one would you choose and why?

1. spalladino (9027) | 3 months ago | As much as I love chocolate, I'd choose the strawberries. Chocolate makes me thirsty and too much can constipate you while strawberries don't do either and are healthier.
| |
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Oh, I didn't know chocolate could do that--never had that problem.:-) But, I agree--I think strawberries are probably the most practical. Luckily, I love all 3!

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Sounds great to me--I love any excuse to eat chocolate!:-)

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | I have to admit that I think you're right, but chocolate could make my last days so much sweeter! lol

4. dawnald (9739) | 3 months ago | Strawberries would be so much more healthy than chocolate, wouldn't it? Therefore I choose chocolate. Comfort food, that's why!
| |
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Eh, I could have guessed your answer in advance, my fellow chocoholic friend! lol
| |
dawnald (9739) | 3 months ago | on the other hand, strawberries sound good...
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Chocolate and strawberries sound even better-ay?! But, alas, that's not the scenario I wrote.:-(
| |
dawnald (9739) | 3 months ago | Do I have pockets?:-)
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Ah, you're here after all! Hmm, I suppose you could have pockets....what would you put in them, the chocolate or the strawberries? You'd have to eat the strawberries fairly quickly, as no refrigeration--and pray that your pockets weren't full of lint too! Ewww!
| |
dawnald (9739) | 3 months ago | I'd have to eat the chocolate pretty quickly too as it would melt. The honey doesn't even bear thinking...
Yep, I'm here. Drove to the courthouse, paid in advance for parking and found out that my group had been dismissed. Don't you just love "government intelligence?"
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Oxymoron if I ever heard one!! In fact you could just leave off the "oxy" part as far as I'm concerned. I'm sorry--that is a shame about the parking--you'd think they'd at least validate it for you...
Honey in a pocket--definitely not appealing! As for the chocolate, I'm allowing you a table so you can set it down. xo
| |
dawnald (9739) | 3 months ago | There was free parking on the other side of the highway, but at that point I just wasn't going to deal with it...

| 5. fitforlife (82) | 3 months ago | I would choose strawberry because they are healthy. I love chocolate, but if I eat too much, I would feel sick too my stomach. I don't feel that way with strawberry.
| |
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | I think you gave the sensible answer--although I suppose if we ate too much of anything we'd get sick to our stomachs!:-)
| |
Archie0 (3139) | 3 months ago | i would choose chocolate because i can't live without it..I love a good quality bitter-sweet dark chocolate like lindtt. I don't really like milk chocolate. Somehow I feel it's got too much sugar in relation to the cocoa. Ironically, I do love white chocolate almost as much as dark chocolate!
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | I'm a huge chocolate lover too!! So, I certainly understand your feeling, but I guess the question would be not whether you could live without it, but could you ultimately live with it alone?:-)
Also, did you know that white chocolate isn't chocolate at all?:-)

6. us2owls (2034) | 3 months ago | I would choose the strawberries. I think they would quench a thirst somewhat as well as providing nourishment. If they would give me a loaf of bread too I would probably opt for the honey.
| |
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Strawberries do seem to be the most wholesome! Great point about the thirst factor, as well. You are the first to mention honey--and in many adverts it's listed as the "perfect food", but it would take a lot of honey to make someone feel full, I think. Sorry, no bread.:-(
| |
thea09 (4472) | 3 months ago | If one is locked up one can only presume that mosquitoes will have access and honey alone would be madness, they'd be feeding on ones sticky bits all night long.
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | My, you do have a vivid imagination thea! lol If the room is locked up, then so are the windows--what makes you think the mosquitoes would find their way in? I'd be more concerned with ants, myself...

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | So sorry my friend, no other foodstuffs allowed.:-( If I were to choose for you, I'd go with the strawberries, as if you were in the locked room and you only asked for strawberries, your captors would have to get them imported in order to keep you supplied. So, they would be in season all year round somewhere!
| |

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Sorry, friend--pepper makes me sneeze.:-) And would that be the British constitution or the Greek constitution. I know it's not in the American Constitution!

thea09 (4472) | 3 months ago | I'm refusing to enter your padded cell if you contine to withold black pepper. It really is delicious on strawberries.
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Well, I thought maybe we were already in the padded cell together.:-) As for pepper, yes I know it's good on strawberries. I particularly like them in a salad with balsamic vinegar and black pepper. However, the question didn't cover anything but choices of strawberries, honey and chocolate. I hope your children don't give you as hard a time with rules as you do me.:-) Or maybe I should say I do. lol
I've found a new flavor for strawberries myself--it's going to sound a little strange, but it's sooo good. A bed of lettuce with sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, strawberries, a few sliced black olives and bacon flavored ranch dressing. YUM!
| |
thea09 (4472) | 3 months ago | Interesting combination there Holly, never tried balsamic and black pepper together on strawberries. Now I've still never tried this ranch dressing but have to say your salad is sadly lacking in spring onions. I am getting salad withdrawal symptoms now after eating it everyday for months, not a decent tomato to be found anywhere at the moment and 90 cents for a manky old lettuce already showing slime at point of purchase. Were you implying I can be a tad difficult Holly?
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | I hope you get to try the balsamic vinegar and black pepper with strawberries--I think you'll like it. As for spring onions with the salad--I think it would be good--I just haven't tried it, as I don't want the onions to overwhelm the flavor of the strawberries--as sometimes they will.
And no, not a tad.:-)

thea09 (4472) | 3 months ago | I'm not that keen on pasta dishes but a memorable one I recall was salmon, fresh cream, strawberries and black pepper.
Unfortunately there will be no more strawberries here now until next summer, not up to paying 10euros per punnet for imported, which they were today.

8. radiance27 (630) | 3 months ago | Maybe strawberries. I love chocolates but if i'm in a locked room with no water in there, I would surely choose to eat strawberries. I has juices that can quench my thirst, compared to the other 2 sweet foods that can only make me thirstier.
| |
| |
nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | A very smart and juicy choice, I think!:-)

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | Hi Debi!! So glad to see you--and at the risk of ticking off some of the others here, I'm going to say yes to you as a special treat as it's been so long since we've been in contact! Technically this is an "either" "or" discussion. Thanks for stopping by. xo

nyhollyjean (332) | 3 months ago | LOL Now I can see why you were so good at those puzzles you gave us on Yuwie!
And if my answer is "I don't know"--then what do you choose?:-)
| |
cloudwatcher (3405) | 3 months ago | Well, you didn't rule out having company, so I'll presume I have a few friends with me. I'll be the sensible one and take the strawberries and my friends will take a variety of chocolates. One will definitely take dark chocolate coated ginger, one will take a variety box, and the others will make their choices. I think we could survive for some time.

cloudwatcher (3405) | 3 months ago | This could be a fun time. Care to join my group? Thanks for best response.

You're welcome and I appreciate the response! xo
