Will the absence of South African team affect the charm of Champions Trophy?  

Definetly it will affect the charm. first of all that is one of the best teams and other this trophy is being held in its home country . so have a great support from there.

Hi soumyasundar.In cricket asian countries pull out the crowd.Luckily Pakistan is still in or else champions trophy would be like one of those practise matches they had before the start of tournament.I am very disappointed in the way the schedule was made.India just lost one match and they are out of the tournament.How can the scope of error be so small for such big tournaments...Anyways I am now looking forward for the one day series between Australia and India coming this last week of October...

Yes it will effect as the home team is not in semifinals crowd will be less, only die hard fans of cricket and people of respective countries who follow there team to every country they go will only be there in the stadium.

actually its the indian and pak crowd which makes all tournament with more people.
although SA was out if india entered the next stage then it would not have become a matter.
now it depends on the team which comes into the finals
