Choosing a BR

I am sometimes faced with the decision of choosing a BR when it is incredibly difficult. I have even posted discussions where all of the responses would qualify. Do you have a system for choosing the BR when this happens to you? What I do is reread all of my choices. If I am still undecided I will usually choose the first one.

I sorry I can't help. I usualy start posts where there won't be a best response. they are pure opinion. When I find a post where there could be a best response, I usually know it when I first read it. It is love at first words. What I have to do is wait a day or two to make sure there isn't a better post and then I give out the Best response. On the rare occasion I have two gret posts I don't give out the best response. It wouldn't be fair to the other post.So I wish I could help but I can't.

There has been times, sarah, when I felt like doing the same thing when more than one response is very good. Maybe I'll take a page from your book.

At times I face this dilemma as many of my friends here are extremely smart.Usually I wait till I get roughly about twenty responses to any of my discussions and take my own time in assessing the best response that fits very properly to the discussion.Well there were times when I had to give the very first response itself the BR as it was such a sparkling one.At times I get the best response after giving it away.Well we can only do whatever the best possible and satisfied with it.Isn't it?

That has also happened to me, balasri. Luckily, the choice is not so difficult most of the time.

It is alot of the time very difficult. I just try to choose the one that really stood out to me. If there is more, I usually just pick between them.

Like the previous responder said, Thoroughrob, it would be good if we could award more than one BR when we feel it necessary.

Yes, I have had a hard time picking the best response. I haven't started all that many discussions, and when I did, I really didn't get a ot of responses except for one discussion that had 37 responses, and that one was very hard to pick the best one. I wish in a way we could pick more than just one, as sometimes there might be 2 or 3 good ones. What I do too, is reread the posts, so I can figure out which one is the best one. After rereading them, then I do decide which one is the best. There are a few discussions that I had forgot to pick the best response on, and they were more than a month old, so I finally did that yesterday. I like to wait awhile to make sure that no one else wants to respond, and we are to wait at least a week before we give the best response. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Well, rosekiss, you are in great shape, since I am just getting around to awarding BRs to some discussions that are a year old!My only excuse is that I have had a couple of bouts of illness that curtailed my participation.

When it comes to that, I don't really delve seriously into it. I just use my instincts and when I posted queries on my discussion thread, if there's one answer that felt like really hit the spot when it comes to the nature of information i wanted to produce, then I go at it and choose that one as my best response for the topic.
