Enormous spider visiting your bed, what do you do?

There are loads of these big spiders in my house at the moment! Some I have managed to catch and squidge. Well only the one's upstairs anyway. There was one downstairs in the front room yesterday actually but it was too high for me to get and if you just knock them they fall and then you are wondering where they are! LOL I have to get rid of the ones that are upstairs because I fear I will wake up with one half in and out of my ear or even worse my mouth!!

I like our spidey friends so I'd probably just help him on his way and sleep. If he was that big, I might catch him and put him out of the window. But as you say, you are much larger than him. I say this in a relative sense with no suggestion that you are anything other than weight in proportion to your height etc etc.

I would spray some anti-insect products towards that spider, then throw its dead body to the bin. There was never a spider in your room?

Man forget about the spider, if I see even a cockroach, I will not be able to sleep, the entire night. I have got an aversion (scared?) to insects, and if I am not able to kill it, I will never sleep.

I find it really hard to settle down if there is a spider anywhere near me. I don't mind them if they are far away, or if I am awake, but as soon as it comes time to settle for the night I get really nervous that I will wake up after being bitten, so I have to catch them and throw them out of the window. Luckily the spiders around here seem to be of a moderate size and like to stay in one place for a long time so I can catch them in a cup and toss them. But if I had a big one that moved quickly I would probably have to form a search party with the members of the household and track the beast down. Luckily my dad is pretty good at catching spiders (I use his method when I catch them myself) so I think he could get them, but until he did I wouldn't be able to sleep at all for fear of what evil plans it could be concocting. That and I hate webs so I want to remove them to ensure I don't wake up in the middle of a giant web as featured in Archnophobia lol!

I would have kept the light on all night. I hate the little buggers. the shoe lace ones look like the devil and scare me to death. I will always be squeamish. I have seen the black widows and the brown recluse. They just weird me out. In your situation i would have gotten my shoe and smashed him good. I always keep my shoes right by the bed. Our landlord is very good about spraying for pests and i am so thankful.

I have not seen big spiders. I do not want see any either. I have nothing against spiders as long as they keep away from my bed and clothes. I used to let them stay on the ceiling. However some of them would come down on the bed. My bed is beside the wall. I do not want them to crawl on me or bite me. So whenever I see them within hitting distance, then POW, I hit them with a newspaper or broom.

LOL thanks for the laugh. And well done for being courageous enough to sleep. I paraphrase what you say about I am gigantic than the spider whichreminds me of when my mothere used to say when I was a kid. Anyway, back to he serious talk Spiders are of course scared from humans and they pretend to die sometimes and that could faze us so next time there is a spider for arguments sake just KILL it so it does not disturb you in any other you. Do you know? on an average, a man eats 8 spiders in his lifetime! This is true. I'm not sure about the source from which we consume them, but i'm sure it's gonna be when we sleep that we eat at least one out of these 8. If i were in sleep when a spider came up, then probably [uuurrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh] that would just add to that figures! Let me stick my mouth together before sleeping.

Talk to it and give it a name. We call ours George. Well, there might be a lot of Georges as it's hard to tell one from the other. Haha.

Once you look on them as a pet then they are easier to live with.

Just remember how much good they do for you in your house, eating loads of nasties that you can hardly see.

When your daughter comes home with a pet brown rat then you learn to say 'How lovely, dear' even when inside your guts are churning!
