myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744) 3 years ago

A week ago someone had stolen my car outside of my house, and yesterday the cops found it and locked up some teenage kids with the oldest one being 18 years old...well I got my car back but they left some stuff behind like their cell phone and a camera....now they're calling from the cell number saying they want their stuff, would you give it back even though they stole your property????

I would give it back.

Even though they stole your car it isn't the right thing to lower yourself down to their level.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Well I have my own cell phone, I dont need it at all. The only reason I am going to keep the items is because their pictures are in it, so Im going to use that as evidence when I go to court......that's what they get, and it's a lesson learned!

If you keep the stuff, you're no better than the kid who stole from you. I would give them back if I were you.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

They aren't getting anything back.....they ripped out my back seat inorder to get into my trunk, took out my dvd player......I guess they sold that and put a cheap radio in it, stole all my stuff that was in my truck, took off my license tag and put another tag on the car....I have to put out so much more money to get another tag.....who is going to pay me for all the things I lost.....its mine!

You don't have to like it, but you probably should do it. Give the stuff back. Even if you kept it, every time you looked at it, or used it, it would stir up some feelings of ill-will. What good would that accomplish?

I hear what you are saying though. Little ba$tards probably don't deserve to have it back. That being said however, you will feel much better about yourself if you do the right thing. You don't have to like it (or them).

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

I rather throw it in the trash than give it back!

myLot reputation of 96/100. malamar (535)   ranked 5,979 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

I am sorry you feel that way, but I also agree that we all have to do what we all have to do. I guess whatever will work for you to help you get over the theft, is what you will pursue. It is certainly not my place to attempt to change you mind.

I only hope you get past this, and find peace in your life.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Thanks, I hope with time I find peace too because I just hate people touching something that doesn't belong to because I work too hard for what I have

myLot reputation of 96/100. malamar (535)   ranked 5,979 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

I know, and I hear what you are saying. They DID do you wrong, there is no doubting that. We all work so hard to just get by these days, we really do. And they have no right to hurt you the way they did.

But, the fact is, they did what they did. They violated you and they stole from you, and there is no getting around that fact. But, if they leave you bitter or hurtful, then they win. I would rather pull out my toenails one by one, before I would let idiots win!

I am not trying to change your mind or your feelings. I am just saying, that if we bow or bend to their actions, they have somehow gotten hold of us and therefore they get the best of us, and they win.

There are truly good people in the world, something these punks will probably never discover. I feel sorry for them, in many ways. That being said, however, I hope they get what they deserve.

Just my thoughts, that's all....

If it were me, I'd give it back. I believe in karma and nothing beats doing good to other people even if they've done you harm. You won't be at a loss anyway because you've got your stuff back. It's not good being too greedy. Besides, they're just kids. If they're to be punished for their wrong doing, there had to be another way but not by your hands. It would be sweeter watching life bearing on them without you having anything to do with it.

But if I were to listen to my demons, I'll sell their stuff, sniff them out and give them a really good beating and I won't the hell care if they're kids. They should have known the value of respecting other people's property. See how they would feel if someone stole from them.

Well, that's just me. Heh heh. =D

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Yeah, Im with you there....they definitely deserve a good A$$ wooping 4real. I got my car back yes.....but they did more damage than good.

myLot reputation of 86/100. forptc (207)   ranked 6,929 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

Heh heh, if it were really me, I'd find them, lock them up in some abandoned house's cellar, wear a mask, change my voice, wrap myself up so I wouldn't drop any epithelial trace that would give off my DNA, lose anything that would identify me, tie them all up, take off their nails one by one, hear them scream for mercy until I hear them tell me "Please let me die", for which I won't.

Uh-oh, I was thinking out loud wasn't I?

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

LOL.....I can see you watch a lot of CSI, Cold Case....Snapped, all that kind of stuff. it seems like we both are two of a kind with the same mind set...i wish i was capable of doing something like that though.

myLot reputation of 86/100. forptc (207)   ranked 6,929 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

Oh yes. Some people even tell me "You watch too much TV". Heh heh, but not necessarily. I'm just the paranoid type and that I have quite a lot of bitterness and frustrations in life. Just as Gil Grissom said in one CSI episode: "Revenge is best served cold". I really don't like people doing bad things to others and getting away with it. I mean I'm quite fine if they do me wrong (though I'll still get back at them. Mwahaha!) but it irks me so much more for them to harm helpless people, to not even exert effort to earn and eat off other people's earnings. Now that's where I turn nasty...and I like it. Heh heh.

I'd be wondering if the phone and camera really belong to them! I mean, they stole your car! They probably stole the other things as well.

I'm not saying you should keep them, as they aren't yours either. I would give the "found property" to the police to deal with. Maybe they can determine if the items were stolen. And if not, at least you wouldn't have to deal with the thieves directly.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Yeah, if I was to give it to anyone, it would be to the police, but that guy isnt getting his stuff back after all the damage and problems he caused.

Give them back their phone. Tell them you didn't find no camara or, tell them you're keeping the camara. Even though you got your car back, I'm sure not having it for how ever long you didn't have it caused you some inconvenience. Tell them you're keeping the camara to make up for that. Of course, there could be a problem with this - they know where you live and could cause you some more inconvenience if you don't give it back. But I just hate the thought of them getting away with it. They may be locked up, but they may get out soon, especially if the oldest one is 18.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Yeah the 18 year old got out......but he has to go to court, and I will be there. He told the cops that the owner let him hold the car.....Im the owner and I dont even know the guy.......he's not going to get away with this that easy, and he's definitely not getting his belongings either.

I'd give it back, but they'd have to come get it. If they wanted me to drive it to wherever the hell it was, no way! I'd take it to the nearest pawn shop and get cash for it.

I mean, just because they're ratbags and scum of the Earth, no reason for me to lower myself to their level and steal stuff too. Sure, it's an eye for an eye, but do you REALLY want to be a thief as well?

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

I wouldn't be a theif because is was in my property.......if they would have just left my car alone.....they would still have their belongings...LONG STORY SHORT, that's what they get!

Yes I would. Or I would turn it over to the police. It's not right to keep their things even if they did steal from you.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Well......they shouldn't have stoled.....that's their own fault.

myLot reputation of 96/100. dawnald (24272)   ranked 208 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

Yes it is, but I'd give their things to the police and let them deal with it.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

I will probably just wait until I go to court, so I can show it to the judge.

I wouldn't keep the stolen property as you too could be charged with possession of stolen property, in a counter charge from the car thiefs. However, having said that I would turn the belongings into the police and let them deal with it. It's evidence further that they were in the stolen car. Gives them more proof for a charge to stick. Harder for their lawyer to get around a technicality.

Sorry about your car I too have been victimized by someone damaging my car and stealing property from it, I had the insurance company completely shampoo and sanitize the interior of the car because I didn't feel comfortable not knowing what they did in my car.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

yeah I agree with you too....the camera and cell phone is evidence, especially when their pictures are in it....its hard to say they didn't do it, when i have their picture...and the cops locked them up anyway, they were in a stolen car, so they're guilty!

If there is still an on going investigation then you need to turn the items over to the police. Actually even if there is not you should give the items to the police and let them deal with it. I don't think you should have anything to do with the creeps who stole your car.

myLot reputation of 81/100. luv_my_life (744)  3 years ago

Yeah I agree, I rather give it to the police, than give it to the creeps who stole from me; they aren't deserving of their items.

myLot reputation of 84/100. JennyMarie (225)   ranked 4,438 out of 32,957 in life  3 years ago

my goodness this is very extreme. I know they stole her card but that is a little too much, I hope you are not being serious
