Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and possible GOP Presidential hopeful said, "There's a joke out now that says the main value of the Cash for Clunkers program may be that we'll get a lot of cars with Obama stickers off the road." He also compared Obama's health care plan to a "manure spreader in a wind storm."

Hmmm...fellow Obama supporters, I think we've just been majorly dissed, how about you?

I hope that he uses this logic, and everyone that purchased a car through this program will remember that Tim Pawlenty didn't want them to have that new car, and wouldn't have helped them like Barack did. I hope that more republicans take this route, that way those that did use the program will remember what republicans stand for. If it was cash for Billionaires then I am sure that Pawlenty would have supported this 1000%

Maybe Tim Pawlenty would rather them be more frugal and continue to drive their functional car till it was done with. I see no glory in destroying perfectly good cars while simultaneously throwing away money to help people get deeper into debt driving cars they don't need. Why don't democrats like you care about the poor people who could have used those clunkers? Wouldn't it have been much better to donate them instead of destroying them?

Where was he when Bush and republicans controlled the entire government from 2004-06 and spent like drunken sailors?

I am sure you don't agree with this, but you have to worry about the future, and if this cuts down on our consumption of OIL then it was well worth it. Oil is the most important resource in the world, and we use more than any other country in the world.

You have no idea what you are talking about Taskr, that was not the point of this program, and if you don't understand something then do some research. Read the bill, and you will see what the program was for. Putting those vehicles back on the road would defeat the purpose of what the program was intended for.

I'd like to see all of the bumper stickers gone. No matter who the candidate. We were close to the father of a congressman. He used to stick his son's campaign stickers on my mom's car. It would make her so mad, but she'd leave it on to not hurt the father's feelings. Never voted for him. The minute the election was over she'd be scraping it off. LOL

That's funny...lol! I can see myself doing that, thought, because I also wouldn't want to hurt the father's feelings. My husband is totally "anti-bumper sticker" because he's obsessive about whatever vehicle we have at any given time - EVEN a clunker...lol!

The sad joke is how many dealerships are STILL waiting for the promised rebates from a deadbeat Congress. The other sad joke is how Ford's F-Series pickup trucks were still the best sellers, and none of the Obama Motors companies had single vehicle make the top selling list.
The people stepped up and took advantage of the cash for clunkers program. The dealers did their part by fronting the money with the promise the deadbeat Congress would make good on their part... but so far, the deadbeat Congress is showing piss poor performance in coughing up the checks in the time promised.
In other words, Congress failed on this one.. miserably... but who cares, right? Owners of car dealerships are part of "The Rich" and it serves them right to get shafted by a "Share the wealth" government scam, right?

Call your dealerships and find out the truth. The truth is, they were promised most payments would be made within 10 days, with a No Later than 30 Sept. They were also threatened with Obama's usual threats if they tried to push the issue.
As for Pawletty's statement. They were funny.

Here's some updates on the rebates; first, the payments had all been promised by Sept. 30:

However, as of Sept. 19 most of the funds had been received:

It's hard to believe people encountering such lack of dignity and decorum in a public person still want to vote for him.

LOL definitely a diss. While I agree in sense that more "poor" people (and people who generally don't have as much money) tend to lean left, and more wealthy people tend to be more conservative, I really don't think that's an appropriate comment for a politician like Tim Pawlenty, to make! He's actually the governor of the state I live in (Minnesota), and I heard that he's planning on running for presidency in 2012. I just don't like the guy, personally, and I don't have much respect for "Jokesters" in the political field.. Unless their jokes are actually funny (and not offensive to the other party). I consider myself to be moderate, but at the same time.. He has a lot of nerve!

I don't particularly like what I've seen of him either. I don't want to offend anyone by this because I don't mean "ordinary" conservatives like those here at myLot but it seems that the high profile conservatives don't have senses of humor unless it's putting someone down.
