what are the gifts you give to a birthday celebrant or any occasion?

i usually give books as presents whenever its a friend or a family member's bday. i am not sure if they read what i have given them though. lol. they like to read that's why i give books. giving gifts should depend on the likes and interests of the persons you are going to give presents to.

Depends ofcourse on the person whose birthday it is. like, do I know him/her well? What does he/she like, what does he/she wants etc..
Always I give a unique funny birthday card, with a nice little story written myself inside it, about him or her.
also, I take lots of thoughts in giving a present. I don't buy something randomly, I don't look atthe price, I jsut take a good look at what he/she may like and what he/she certainly woudn't expect to get. And to see the surprised face, is always a great feeling for me

it depends really.if I know the person well,I will give him/her the gift s/he really loves.I will give a book to bookworm and a scented soap to a girly friend.I prefer giving gifts that they can use.

I usually give gifts that are handmade by me and I do not like to buy sometimes I prefer a real conversation or greeting which I am more excited to listen to the voice of the well wishers than a material gifts. I like the personal greeting which the one I love most. In cases the person is far from me I still prefer a long distance call or Ym. This is much sweeter than giving a commercialized gifts.

I usually give cards too. The last gift I gave to a friends was a birthday cake. It was special. I am not usually a gift-giver, my kindness and being there with my friends are more important.

I gave something useful to the celebrant like clothes, books, or simply things that can be use in everyday lives.

hi amyson! that's a good way of expressing ur care for the person, i used to do that. now, i dont know what to tell them, maybe not that inspired lately, hehe. lately, am fond of drawings so i draw their face, put it a frame and give it to them. sometimes, we organize a surprise party for the person concerned. still, all the stuff i gave, be it my family or friends depend on my budget and time but i make it a point that it must be really special and truly intended for them. so there!:)

Well it depends upon several factors, age of the person, gender, my relation with him/her. the gift may be a box of chocolates, a pen, a dress or even a microwave oven. The last one i gave to a close friend was a suit lengh of woolen cloth.

I first give them their card. Then I take them out to eat. Then we go to the party. Then I give them something they wanted a month or 2 ago they still wanted but didn't have.
