How do you feel about your birthday? Another year!

In most years that I live this life, I haven't celebrated most of them because I have not been used to birthday celebration. My parents never celebrated their own birthday, and so with me. During my college days, that was the time that some of my friends remembered my birthday and we celebrated it. I am not upset when friends forget about my birthday. I am just happy to be born into this world.

My Birthday is today, and it's just another day to me, I am going to spend my birthday,there on the computer, all day long today, earning me some money, I have no parites planned, I am not going to go, any where today, I am just going to sit here all day, and Mylot all day long, I want to earn me some money, no one is giving me any money, so I will earn me some money, here on Mylot.

yeah,birthday means i was burned years ago.and every year my parent always celebrate my birthday wherever i am i can receive my present from my parent.

I am just happy to make it there and I have one this month on the 25 th. I am amazed every year that another year has gone by so fast! Thankful for every single one!

I've never been comfortable in the "birthday party" setting. I always hated people watching me open presents. My kids are grown and no longer buy presents but they all do call me on my birthday. As I've grown older I really don't care to think of how "old" I am getting, but it would be nice to have someone who would take the time to even get a card. My husband and I got to the point where we would not do anything for birthdays or anniversaries. That may be one of the reasons we aren't together any more. We got away from giving special attention on special days. I kind of miss getting a nice card or even a little gift. I did not realize how much a simple thing like a card meant until on Mother's Day my daughter's kids did their thing for mom and gave me a Mother's Day card for grandma. That made me feel good.

I am happy ang thankful because gave me another year. It also comes into my mind that I am getting old ( but not that old). I actually miss being a kid without problems to think about. Now, you've got to strive hard to live. But still, you got to have fun, but not like the fun you had when you were young that it's like you have the time of the world.

I hate birthdays, especially mine. I always see it as a further step towards death, but I suffer from tanatophobia so I guess that's why I have such a negative and pessimistic view of birthdays. Starting from this year I asked to not celebrate it and saying I don't want any wishes. Last year I cried when I turned 29. Turning 30 was a huge problem for me and thank god people didn't celebrate anything so it went away smoothly:)

I will be extremely happy if my friends do remember my birthday and sent me a birthday messages.
Of course, I wish my husband to be the first person to remember my birthday and he does!!
I have been celebrating my birthday with my husband since we are dating (before we got married) till now.

I always have a simple birthday celebration,even dining outside or just eat at home.
With a cake cutting and blow candles is more than enough for me.But this year, I have something special from my son, he sang a birthday song for me...I m so happy.

I care enough to send a card or make a phone call but a big party with alot of guests is not something that I would enjoy having for my birthday or palnning for anyone elses. My mom just had her 89 birthday, I sent a card and took her out to lunch and bought a vey little gift and told her it was from one of the cats. She gets a kick out of that.

The Chinese celebrate their birthdays only twice in their lives. First, when they are turning 1 year old and second when they reached 60 years old. I don't know why they do that for some reasons. Anyway, in my Filipino culture, the most awaited birthdays that needs big celebrations are 1 year old, 7 years old, 18 years old (for women), 21 years old (for men), 50 years old and 70 years old.

For me, my birthday is my special day. I always celebrate my birthday every year as much as possible. I don't spend much, a simple get together and dinner with my family plus a birthday cake is what essential to me. This year, I have turned 30 years old and I spent my birthday in Hong Kong. Its like my birthday treat to myself. I feel happy whenever my birthday comes. It means that I am a year older and wiser but I am always young at heart. I don't get upset if one of my friends don't remember my birthday. It will be great if I will receive some gifts from my friends. I like surprises. Most of the time, I buy something for myself for my birthday like an electronic gadget or something that I really want to have.

What makes me pissed off lately is that, my childhood friend forgot my birthday and she greeted me two days after my birthday. She was asking me to go out so that I can treat her and she has no gift for me. I always give her a gift on her birthdays and during Christmas but she never give me a gift not even once. I don't even have a job at the moment so I told her yesterday that I can't treat her because of my financial problems. Maybe next time I should tell my friends that, "greetings are good but I want gifts."

I know it sounds mean but I want a give and take friendship. I do not need a parasite in my life but most of my friends are like that. They will only think of me when they need help or something. It should be balance, right?
