Proof of God |

My Religious Eduction teacher in school told me; "For those who believe, no proof is needed. For those who don't believe, no proof is enough." Do you agree? Please state your reasons.

2. shadow41 (803) | 2 months ago | Yes that is entirely true. Religion means faith. If we don't have faith then we can't say we really believe. Bless are those who saw God and believed in Him but bless the most those people who haven't seen God and still believed in Him.

| 3. jhamhel (3) | 2 months ago | Yes maybe it is a matter of faith but is that true or people are just making an excuse to justify thier beliefs? I believe it is not bad to look for proofs or questions God because that will lead you to assess your beliefs.I just think some people believe in Him because that's what they think and taught to do not becoz they really do...

5. headhunter525 (1445) | 2 months ago | I kind of agree with it. We cannot really prove that God exists nor can we disprove the existence of God. But my belief in God does not emerge from blind faith. It has reasonable clues. So I would argue that there are leads that seem to suggest there is a God, but these leads do not give a knock down arguments in favour of God. If a proof is really a proof, it has to be a knock down argument. But these leads do not serve as proofs.
The reasons why we can't prove God is because topic like God cannot be studied by using empirical data. Here we are getting into metaphysics, which by definition is something out of the reach of empirical verification. Scientific verification does not cover all aspects of life's events. For example, beauty and language are important in life yet they cannot be verified by science. They have their own ways of being verified/ examined.

6. cloudwatcher (3269) | 2 months ago | I partly agree with the statement.
It is certainly true that "there is none so blind as those who WILL NOT see". No matter how much proof could be offered, there would be those who REFUSE to believe. There will be those who will believe made-up excuses and foundation-less human reasonings rather than believe in a God to whom they would become responsible and accountable.
"For those who believe, no proof is needed" This is true, up to a point. We know that faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God. We believe without proof, but when we TRULY believe we receive all the proof we ever need. I have known, loved and served my heavenly Father God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for 51 of my 73 years. While at 22 years old I had no proof on which to base my belief, I now have 51 years of a constant relationship experience with Him and all the proof I need. He is just as real to me as anyone I know. In those 51 years, He has been my constant Companion, my Guide, my Counsellor, my Strength, my Enabling, my Chastiser, my Encourager, my EVERYTHING! I cannot deny the REALITY of my experience.
Although I need no proof other than my experience with the living God, there is proof. There is plenty of proof of the truth of the Bible. . . briefly . . .
PROPHECY: Of the many hundreds of prophecies of the Bible, written hundreds of years BEFORE the events, every single detail of every prophecy came true EXACTLY as prophesied.
ARCHAEOLOGY: Although many events recorded in the Scriptures were ridiculed for hundreds of years, archaeologists unearthed ruins which proved the Scriptures were correct. Of note here is Hezekiah's tunnel which is now a tourist attraction, with hundreds of tourists walking through it every day. It was unearthed quite recently, and found to be exactly as recorded hundreds of years earlier.
SCIENCE: Although the Bible is not a scientific book, it records many science facts which were only "discovered" many hundreds of years after they were written.
"For those who believe, no proof is necessary" True! But a personal experience with a living God brings as much proof as anyone needs.

| 7. Realsmack (90) | 2 months ago | Faith is believing without knowing. Either way theres no need to prove there is a God to people who believe because they are walking on faith. For those who don't believe why even waste your time trying to prove.

8. strawberrybaby39 (609) | 2 months ago | I agree that is the way it works most of the time. I believe so I don't need proof that Jesus is real to me. And most of the other people that don't believe want proof to show that he is very real. If Jesus was given a chance in there life they would believe. But some times they don't even give him that chance so they miss judge Jesus all the time.

10. 6precious102 (1396) | 2 months ago | I believe that those who don't want to believe or who don't want God to exist because they don't want to have to answer for their behavior will never accept any proof. However, there are those who don't believe and in their efforts to proof that God doesn't exist have come to the realization that He does. Two examples of men who didn't believe in God but became believers after researching the matter were General Lew Wallace (a Civil War General) who wrote "Ben Hur," and Josh McDowell who wrote "Evidence That Demands A Verdict." I have no doubt there are more. I think there are believers that have been conditioned to believe and have no interest in questioning where or not God exists. There are also some people who are afraid not to believe. There are people who believe because they've studied the Bible along with commentaries and writings from people who have studied the matter deeply and they also look at the world and it's complexity and realize God has to exist. Nothing else, not even all the theories of science, makes sense.
