Do you believe that 2012 is the end of the world?

Before I comment on this topic I would suggest you something. Next time before posting a topic please check whether it has already been posted or not. This is the 3rd time this week that I have found the same topic.

Now for your question, the world is not going to end on 2012 and if it has to suddenly end then it can end right now while you are reading this response. Predictions or not, this modern human civilization is not going to go extinct like the dinosaurs.

That's just a lot of craps. You needn't worry about it and take it serious. There are lots of catastrophes occurring every year, and they're just natural movement or the inherent regulation of the earth. As to the predictions you mentioned turn into actions, I feel quite dubious about them, for example, Mayan just foretelled that human being would fly like a bird in the future, but some guys with covert purposes relate the creation of the plan to such a prediction or desire in order to prove the accuracy of the Mayan's prediction. How pathetic!

I have also been pondering upon this fuss for some time and noticed that it is a little more than a fuss. As a word of philosophy, nobody can tell in advance whether it will happen or not. So, who knows?
However, I have a completely science driven mind and thus do not agree to all these predictions. These are mere assumptions of the naughty human mind. Why believe a single or two calenders while there are hundreds of other calendars who range beyond this 2012? So, believing all these calendar based predictions is simple foolishness.

But, there is something different that makes a real sense in talking about. And, that is scientifically also that the life on earth is in a serious danger in near future.
Scientists have predicted that all glaciers will melt by 2022. However, i believe the rate is not linear but exponential and it is going to happen around 2015-18.
At this rate, nearly every necessary resource will be depleted or contaminated by the end of this century. So, what will give to our grandchildren.
So, this danger is big. I suggest looking on these serious matters rather than wasting time on the nonsense predictions from some calendars.
Maybe, another ice age may repeat itself on that December 21, 2012 or some other date in near future but not due to any supernatural reasons but because of our negligence.

Also, i didn`t understand the meaning of solar system being at top level in the galaxy coz in this era of relativity, nothing is at the top or bottom. Maybe u r talking of solar system moving from galaxy periphery to center into a black hole but that is going to happen at some date for sure, so why worry about that (coz there don`t seem to be any such indications yet).

Before anything else, I would like to say that I am half convinced with this prediction. Why? I've researched about this end of the world thing before and I learned that it was already a not so popular topic back in year 2000. Even in year 2000 they are already mentioning 2012, if it's not yet the end of the world, I guess something bad will really happen. According to some experts, it can be avoided but only if proper steps to evasion will be observed. I was convinced a bit that this will happen after seeing their scientific proof. It says there that planet X is gonna hit us and planet X is like 5 times the size of the earth but I'm not sure just search it if you want. It also disappoints me that we are going to wait for 3 more years until we reach that said date, you know the feeling of anticipating something that will take years to happen. I just hope that this won't happen or God will do something about it, prayers are what we can use for now as we are still not sure of what's going to happen.

I don't really agree with you .Someone said the world would end in 2000,but it didn't happen.

uhm whatever happen life just goes on. whether it is the end of the world or now we should always expect the worst. its just like death. you never know when it will come.

The Mayans made a calendar and Ben Franklin created daylight savings time. sounds to me like a conspiracy better call mythbusters to prove it before we fall into the gunny sack of space.

Acutally I am not worrying so much because that's something we could not stop,the result will not be changed no matter you know or believe in the answer or not,that's a horrible dicussion but if it's under the control of human being's control,we may not be so worried about the future.

I think most people do not agree with it,once I hear that the world will end at 2008, now I still alive, I do not believe such a legend,it is very absurd.I will tell you,my friend,I will die by the year 2100,do you believe? haha.

Have you ever heard about life time validity?? Why should people be given validity for their cards till 2021? Belief is more important. No way it is the end of the world!
