Yes, when flood occurs, the whole house is on water. The rural areas here are worst in Bihar. Kosi river is the terror for us as it causes much of a flood. But this year it was a drought condition were the farmers were worst to suffer and so the people as the rates are very high for the daily diet and food including vegetables. In other words the market is on fire.

Thanks friends for expressing you views.
It's surprising that at one hand Bihar is considered one the most 'Bimaroo' [miserable] state in India, whereas on the other hand, the central government makes tremendous excuses while, sanctioning relief money to the state. The condition of Bihar has gone 100 times worse that what it had During the British regime. I wonder when people will awake to this fact and give politicians a good lesson before giving votes.

The floods in our country occur year after year but no one seems to care. The people in power that is.The dams are still releasing water without proper warning, the mud dams are still being washed away causing intensive flooding even after so many years of independence. There is no proper crisis management infrastructure, roads are abominable. Relief does not reach in time, medical facilities are far short of requirements. We know all this but where is the infrastructure? When will the politicians wake up and think about the country and its people who bring them to power year after year?

There are so many Indian and Pakistani engineers here in the US (and hopefully in their various nations). How come these engineers are not doing something about flood control in their original homelands? Just too many floods in that part of the world!

Floods are everywhere in India. Even the south India too is under floods and many are dying due to these floods. The Tsunami in Indonasia had brought the depression in Bay of Bengal as well as Arabian Sea as well. This depression has brought heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and other places. Nature fury has brought lot of floods in the country and hope situation gets normal in coming days.

Its very sad news to me. Every day I am watching on TV and with more and more victims suffering with losing there food, fields, shelter and wealth.
Its really panic situation to every one. I pray god not this happen again ever. I feel its purely lose of prediction by political parties. If they would support engineers and analyst, they would have construct good project to prevent this kind of huge loss.
