No Moderator, are we "mature" enough to know what to say?

This is one observation that I have seen in this site - there is no moderator in the forum. Well, that's good isn't it? We're not wayward teenagers or rowdy school children who could not remain civilized even if we have free reign of our tongues. But Alas, that is not what is happening. We are given absolute freedom to express our thoughts and Whoa! how foul-mouthed we become. We unleash all those cuss words and curse words and everything. Do we want out children hearing us say these words not mentioned in a "civilized" forum? Now I know why in spite of us claiming to be responsible adults, forum sites still have moderators. We just have proven we cannot be given the true freedom of free speech because we abuse it. I have witnessed this occurrence in this site. Have you ever come across a forum such as what I mentioned?
