best fielder? no doubt it is yuvaraj sing>he is a fantastic fielder who can catch ball from both side.He is a great cricketer he is a good part time baller and now he is world no 2 in batting

Jonty Rodes is a past master. And this is true that he revolutionized the concept what fielding actually meant.

Now there are so many good fielders and all rounders which was a non entity sort of thing in the yesteryears. I remember Maninder Sing from India who used to spin ball would be shivering if he needed to be going to bat at no 9. But now things have changed therefore new interest has got in.

cricket is known for its batting and bowling in older times ,,but in 1992 world cup there came a man from SOUTH AFRICA which made a revolution in third deprtment of cricket ,that is feilding .he was none other then jhonty rhodes.He is crowned as the best feilder ever by ICC.Thousands of runs saved by him for his team ,so if we calculate the runs made by him plus he saved that will definitely cross ten thousand.In now times there are no. of players like gibbs,ab develliers,yuvraj,dilshan,raina,symonds,clarke which are very good feilder but no one is better than rhodes.Because of him total scenerio of cricket has been changed now,,seletion is now depends on how much the player is fit .....

Of the current lot I`ll go for AB DeVilliers who is emerging as the best batsman and best fielder.
Much before Jonty there was an English man Colin Bland who,old timers swear was the best ever.Why don`t you google and see for yourself.But then he played in an era when you were not even born and I was a toddler,LOL.

It is said the fielding captain would deliberately post a deep mid-off and the unsuspecting batsman would push to mid -off and set off for a run only to see Colin Bland swoop in from covers to cut off the shot and effect a run out.His flat throws from the boundary 80 yards away would travel flat and miraculously parallel to the ground and surprise many a batsman and spectator alike.

But I agree in our times no body can think of a better fielder than Jonty.I believe he is epileptic. happy lotting

Jonty Rhodes use to have good competation with Ricky Ponting during his playing days. Jonty Rhodes is 1% slightly better than Ricky but both use to set high standards in fielding. Ricky Ponting has more % of hitting stumps than Jonty and it was shown in stats in one match on TV. But I feel Jonty has created style and he even showed new technics of fielding. South Africa is very fortunate to have such a player in their team, he use to save atleast 30 runs for his team in his area easily.

Presently AB De Villers is following the footsteps created by Jonty Rhodes. I always like the way he enjoys on the cricket field. He is truely the fielding legend of World Cricket in my view. Today many teams have improved their fielding standards because every team learned that saving runs will help them to save the match as well..

In current time i think yuvraj singh is the best fielder... in world.. i like his catching positions.. he takes very amazing catches...which you can't imagine.. so i like yuvraj singh's fielding.. i like to see yuvraj singh at at point fielding..

Jhonty Rhodes was the best fielder ........there is no doubt. but now days i think ricky ponting, yuvraj shing, dilshan, Gibbs they all are good and every one is competitor to another. they all are really good fielder as i like all of them.

Yeh Jonty Rhodes is a true genuis wwho changed the game through his fielding. He worked very hard on his fielding and it produced results. He is probably one of the best fielder in history. These day fielding is stressed by all good coaches, and you can get dropped if your fielding is not upto the mark. Ricky Ponting, Yuvraj Singh, AB Devilliers, Andrew Symonds and Paul Collingwood are some modern day crickets who come to mind. Some of these names are very good and can certainly match Jonty Rhodes in some aspects.

There are too many good fielders.. Like yuvi, gibbs, raina, collingwood and many more
.. But the one who impressed me more is RAINA.. He is just awesome in the field.. His fast reactions and speed is the power and strength of his fielding.. He is the best now in indian team..
