Do you eat leftovers? |
|
I usually do not like to throw food as food has become so expensive, so I keep the leftovers in the fridge. As eat them only the next day. I do not keep them too many days in the fridge. I prefer to bring leftovers at work the next day. In this way I will not worry for the next day lunch and I will get time to prepare myself for work as the food is already ready. What do you do with the leftovers?

2. Fulltank (1044) | 2 months ago | yes. leftovers that are properly keep. even excess foods left by my children on their plates which they can no longer eat. i guess, its a virtue of being the breadwinner, i know how hard to make money just to have food on the table. waisting them is like waisting your hard-earned money.

| 3. AD1970 (92) | 2 months ago | I also don't like to throw food so I usually keep it in the fridge. Next day, I will heat it up very well and eat it - there is no harm and all the bacteria will be killed by the heat. In fact, I sometimes feel that the leftover food is actually better because the spices have "gone into" the food giving added flavor.
Sometimes, I will even improvise on leftovers and make a new dish mixing it with some fresh ingredients!

4. Qaeyious (1270) | 2 months ago | I eat what I prepare. It is very easy for me because I do not have anyone else but me here. It did take me a while to gauge rice and noodles with their uncooked to cooked expansion rates but I eventually got it. But then when I was younger, I would consume everything.
Now there are things that take a couple of days to prepare in my opinion. My chicken and rolled egg dumplings I prefer to leave sitting for a day to let all the spices be absorbed by the chicken and the dumplings, to be reheated before serving. A lot of soups I prefer that way, and most chilies. I suppose all of those are actually soups, some thicker than others ...
I find with genuine leftovers, if I save something from a restaurant (thankfully lately I'm finding many are serving smaller portions, and you don't have to be a senior to get it) most likely I will forget about it, and it would have been better left on some compost pile.

5. lelin1123 (4200) | 2 months ago | When it comes to leftovers I will either save it for lunch the next day or for dinner again. I too hate to throw food away and with so many starving in the world it just wouldn't be right. I know people who for some reason can't eat leftovers and I just don't understand it.

8. 3SnuggleBunnies (3296) | 2 months ago | We usually eat them for lunch here as well or breakfast sometimes if we need to. Depending on what it is sometimes I'll freeze the item and reheat it another time. Like my hubby makes huge vats of chili and we don't eat that much of it so I freeze it in zip bags. I can't see wasting, nor can I afford to.

10. lala501 (793) | 2 months ago | I am like you. I do not like to waste food, as money is getting tight these day. I will keep the leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days, then it is bad for me after that. I will either eat them for lunch or for dinner the next day.
