Will you go travel without bringing your kids along?? |
|
My answer is: NO. When I go for travelling, my son sure will tag along. I did told my husband before that only both of us go for another honey moon trip, but then my husband never agree to it.
For him, no matter where we go, always have to bring along our son too. I do agree that it is pity to just leave my son at home while me and my husband enjoying our holiday. So, everytime we are out from country for holiday, our dear son also has his share too.He also likes to take plane. His first time taking plane is when he was 10 months old, we were on the way to Singapore, then back to my hometown. I was very nervous when first time travelled with my son as I really have no experience at all travelling with kid.I am so lucky that everything were going fine. And this coming December, we are going to travel again, back to my hometown and stopby Kuala Lumpur.
Happy weekend!!

1. submerryn (710) | 3 months ago | My answer is NO too. Though I sometimes get choked up with my son as I am a full time stay at home mother, I will never leave him behind just so that I can go travel. I wont be able to enjoy my journey as I'll constantly be thinking of him. It's either he goes with me or I not go at all.

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | HI Submerryn,
Thanks for being the first person to respond to my topic. I have the same perception like you. Sometimes, when I was out for a while to settle up some issue and I left my son with my mother-in-law, my mind always not in peace.I will keep thinking of him. So I am very sure that I am not able to leave my son at home while I am going for a holiday with my husband.
Actually, I need to go Kuching to update my passport address and my mother-in-law suggested that I go alone without bringing my son. But I am just feel uneasy and worry he will look for me at night, At last, I postponed my trip and I will just get it done in Decembe when I am at Kuala Lumpur.

submerryn (710) | 3 months ago | That's such a relieve to learn that you wont just leave your son there! lol. But you are still ok as your son had been left with your mother in law once in a while. My son, since my parents and in laws are all outstation, has never been with them alone without me. So, no matter what, I'll have to be with him.:)

IMEzekieL (505) | 3 months ago | Leaving the children with in-laws isn't a bad idea. But you still have to find some time to bond with your children.

|
shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | Hi Merryn,
I can imagine how your son stick to you all the time since your parents and in-laws are all outstation. For me, I only left my son with my mother-in-law if I really have something urgent need to attend.or else, I prefer to takecare myself.

2. maximax8 (10731) | 3 months ago | I have a toddler son and a baby daughter. I have taken my toddler son to five different countries and I was pregnant with my daughter when I took him to South Africa. We explored Cape Town and the Garden Route. I think taking children traveling is very educational. I love traveling with my children.

3. Iriene88 (1181) | 3 months ago | Dear Shia,
I always tag along my son wherever I go except there was one time when he was 4 years old. That trip is only for ladies, no husbands or kid allowed, organised by my ex-colleague's friend, trip to Beijing (8 days trip)..
My son was trained to travel with us every year to Singapore since he was 7 mths old. We drove there. We did brought him to Kuching, Sarawak by flight when he was 10 months old but a day before the trip he was sick with fever. The doctor gave us some medicine and tell us to go ahead. But his condition became worse and we have to shorten the holiday & flew back.
We start travelling again when he was 5+ years old. He enjoyed his trip very much to Gold Coast, Australia but when I asked him now, he can't remember much about the trip except what he sees in the photos. When he was 7, we brought him to Sydney, he remembered the trip in details till now, that's fantastic! I can't remember most of it. He really learned a lot.
Since then, every year we will bring him along with us, even long distance flights (22 hours) to New York, different weather like winter to Korea, Eastern Europe and Shanghai. Extremely hot deserted places like Egypt, Jordan etc. It is good exposure for young children, the culture, language, food etc. He even take the iniative to learn basic Spanish in the Internet before going to Malaga, Spain. He will google to check the tourist attractions etc. Most of the places are children friendly, airoplane provide child meals, toys and cartoon to watch especially Cathay Pacific.
Enjoy with family, Quality time well spend together!

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | Hi Iriene,
That is amazing that you and your family has been to so many countries. Bringing our kid together for a holiday is a very good activities. He/she can learn new cultures and getting a chance to explore new things.
My son's first trip was to Singapore when he was 10 months old, he was still small and still don't know alot of things. Then his second trip was also to Singapore again last December, that time, he got to know more things and have so much fun there.
Now the third trip is this coming December, going back to my hometown and will stopby Kuala Lumpur before heading back to my husband's hometown.
Spending time together is always the sweetest memories in my mind.

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | HI Ann,
When come to business trip,of course,it is impossible for you to bring along your daughter and she can understand your position too.
Travelling alone is bit boring, but if you have some free time, go for short holiday trip with your daughter,I am sure you will be enjoying your trip there. It is also the time where you guys can relax.

5. Melbee11 (237) | 3 months ago | If I did have kids I would bring them with me everywhere I go. It would be fun just having them with me while exploring the world. I don't think I would take them somewhere else and leave them all by themselves while I go and have fun. I just hope they don't make trouble and we just have fun.^^

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | HI Melbee,
Bringing our kids along for holiday can be very fun. Although it might be more tiring, but you can spend your most quality time with them, having fun together and it is kinda of educational trip for them too.
That is why I always bring my son along when I am out for travelling. Leaving him at home is impossible.

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | Hi Cwong,
yes..I am going to Kuala lumpur for 2 nights before heading back to my husband's hometown. I hope we got chance to meet up.
Travelling with small kid is more troublesome, we have to bring lot of babies stuffs and it can be a tiring trip actually. I remembered when I first went to singapore with my son when he was 10 months old, I am so worried as that is his first time taking plane. I have to bring more clothes along and other stuffs, the whole luggage seem full of my son's things.Even I have to bring stroller along when I was in Singapore trip.
Although it is a tiring trip, but we all enjoyed it alot.
This coming december will be the third time for my son to take plane back to my hometown and we really can't wait for the Happy Day to come.

cwong77 (1180) | 3 months ago | Shia.. I can understand how is it to travel with kids.. no doubt I have a 8 months old baby, but I have been caring for a baby boy earlier, and we brought him to China (his mom's hometown) last year, and his luggage itself has occupy most of the 'quota' for check in.
My god sis who recently came back to Malaysia from London for a solid 3 weeks holiday was also saying that 3/4 of her luggages were for her baby girl!
Enjoy your trips back and safe ones..

shia88 (825) | 3 months ago | Hi Cwong,
I always enjoy my holiday with my boy around. It can be quite tiring, but we enjoyed and having fun together. Of course, I won't be travelling alone with my son only,my husband will join us too. at least, he can help to takecare of my son too.
As my son is growing up,at least, I no need to bring so many of his stuffs when we travel around, especially the milk formula has been reducing. The first time I went back to my hometown for 2 months,I have to carry 1 big box of milk formula too as my hometown don't sell enfagrow original flavour.

Bringing our kid for holiday can be fun,but for sure it is tiring. And there is a time where I can't really enjoy our holiday as I still have to takecare of my son. However, seeing my son enjoyed himself, I was so happy and my tiredness will just gone by itself.
