Do you believe that one day we would be able to gentically engineer a dinosaur? |
|
As in cloning dinosaurs like in Jurassic Park. This is a serious discussion. Arthur C.Clarke the author, predicted that would be able to clone dinosaurs 2015/2020. Look it up on wikipedia. Yeah it is an interesting concept. Though it doesn't sound or look possible.

3. almightyonline (241) | 3 months ago | Hei, that's really an interesting topic man. But why shall we go for a dinosaur? So keen to play a game of Jurassic park movie? It'll be interesting to see how scientists do it and are gonna face the situation if it happens. What if they grow in numbers and we are not able to control their population? Just imagine these creatures moving around our houses and causing threats to us. It'll be really adventurous [ i love adventures!!]. I'd like to see one too, but they shouldn't be allowed to rule this world once again.

4. animestan (292) | 3 months ago | To me, i dont care if it is possible. If the science is there to recreate something that was dead, and make it living that would be cool, but I see no purpose for brining a dinosaur back.

Xemnas12 (410) | 3 months ago | No there is no purpose, unless you want to make some sort of theme park/zoo type thing on an isolated island.

5. ladym33 (5478) | 3 months ago | With the strides they have made with cloning I suppose it would be possible. But would it be wise? Like someone said in the movie nature selected to eliminate the dinosaurs for a reason. What if they did begin to reproduce on their own like they did in the movie, that would be terrible for all of us as they are obviously much bigger and more powerful than we are. It would not be a good idea. But possible, maybe.

6. angelajoy (975) | 3 months ago | I think it is indeed possible. The progress of science and technology is so fast that I wouldn't be surprised if we could already clone dinosaurs a few years from now. With science, almost anything is possible. There are things today that our ancestors never thought would be possible. I think there are also things that we've never even dreamed of that would be reality in the future.

7. artistry (526) | 3 months ago | ...Hi there Xemnas12, I heard something a few years ago, which is somewhere in my memory bank, that goes like this. If a woman does not have any ovaries, thereby precluding her ability to ovulate and get pregnant, for whatever reason, surgery to remove the ovaries as in hysterectomy or whatever. If she really wants a baby, doctors could take a healthy egg from a relative, donor, etc., scrape the interior of the egg out, removing the donor's DNA, scrape some of the potential mother's skin to get her cells and DNA, implant those skin cells inside that healthy egg, and implant the egg in a healthy surrogate, after the egg has been fertilized. This would, they say, result in a healthy baby. I don't know if this has been done, it's a little scary as well, butttt, if they can do this, then I think cloning dinosaurs would be a walk in the park. Take it easy.

9. AndrewFreyne (2546) | 3 months ago | You know, I would not be totally surprised if something like this took place at some point in the future! We have the bones in certain collections around the world and I'm thinking that surely some kind of dna can be taken from these bones. I think that this would be a very frightening prospect though! I don't think that we would be able to coexist with dinasours! We would then become the prey and our lives would not be worth living! Andrew

10. getbrowser (1425) | 3 months ago | I am not worried about the appearance of dinosaurs for everything is possible in the future.
But when it comes to the effect on our life, it seems that there is no reason why people have to clone a dinosaur. for experiment, or for the diversity of the species? People can clone them if its existence is really useful to the society.
Expect for cloning dinosaurs, perhaps we have something more useful to do.
