Happy Thanksgiving To My Canadian Friends, And Everyone Else Out There!!! |
| |
| A very happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone. I'm a Canadian, married to an American, and we now live in Canada. We celebrate both Thanksgivings. For the Canadian one we go to a local restaurant that serves a turkey dinner, and for the American one, Hubby, the cook in the family, cooks a turkey dinner here. How are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year? | | | | | |

| | Wow cool! I didn't know today was Canada's Thanksgiving Day. We raised our own turkey this year so we will be eating fresh organic turkey, we are all excited LOL I usually cook and it's just me and the husband and kids. | | | | | | |

| | We could never raise our own turkey, or anything else that we would want to eat. I thought I was a softie when it comes to PETS, but my husband is an even bigger softie. if it's alive, and in our custody, it becomes our pet, we name it, and we can't eat it. :) I remember a holiday dinner at my Uncle Mac's house. I was enjoying the turkey, up until he told me that I probably saw "him running around in the driveway, when i got here." LOL | | | |

| | Since the Thanksgiving celebration isn't until next month here, and we tend to make plans at the last minute, I am not sure what we are doing. I think I remember discussing it with my son, who lives an hour away in a new rental house that is large enough for the entire family, but I am not sure that his sisters will all travel there for dinner. They might have their own plans, and I haven't any idea which of them may have to work. We tend to play it by ear each year, not knowing who is doing things with the in-laws and who is working. A couple of years ago we had workers, and prepared and boxed dinners for those working so they could also have dinner! I will probably bye a turkey and take it wherever we end up and prepare it there and we will decide who is doing whatever else we want done. | | | | | | |

| | Unfortunately, we can not celebrate Thanksgiving because we elected all of the turkeys to the US House and US Senate. | | | | | | |

| | A very Happy Thanksgiving to you too, danishcanadian, from another Canuck! ;) I've been in your position, as well, with the whole Canadian/American relationship and have had plenty of years where there were two Thanksgivings LOL Which is actually pretty cool because I love turkey dinner :) We actually had our dinner on Saturday night. My sister and I (we're the only two left of our immediate family) split the cooking right down the middle and our families eat together, usually at her house. We had some nice wine, good food and there were some leftovers for an easy, reheatable meal on Sunday night. All in all, a great holiday :)) | | | | | | |

| | Well, since I live in the USA our Thanksgiving is still not for over a month away. I have to work that day since I work for a company that is never closed so I am sure my husband will take me to work and then fix a nice Turkey dinner that we can eat when I get home. I Love turkey so I actually look forward to Thanksgiving each yr. and being Thankful for all that has happened to me over the yr. as well. Late Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you and hope you had a nice dinner. | | | | | | |
