mp3 damages ears

I don't think its only with MP3. If you continously hear something through your headset, then your ears are going to face some problems. It is a proven fact that a lot of bacteria accumulates in your ear if you put your headset for an hour. BUt people dont care about these and enjoy the music. Anyway continuous exposure to any kind of music that too with a headset is not good for ears.

I think they are silent killers. Not much has been done to prevent this from happening. Perhaps when we have more data of hearing loss through continuous listening of loud music after many many years will we have some action taken.

yeah I accept hearing loudlt damages our ear drum... but being an entertainment we can hear it in a soft way...!

I think if it's loud, any loud noise can damage the ears. But since they are so popular now, and with the good sound technology it is probably a lot easier. Loud music didn't sound good on a walkman, remember those, with the cassette tapes?
