How Long Does a Laptop Battery Lasts?  

I once asked how long was the life of a Laptop battery, I got no comment.

But knowing other batteries they could live for ever or die in minutes, just ones luck what one you get.

A laptop battery lasts 3 or 4 hours may be available to me.

But unfortunately, my laptop bettery only lasts less than 2 hours, which sounds so bad. Yes, I often spend about 1 hours on myLot to start several new discussions and post some responses. Sometimes, I may meet such a situation that my computer shuts off completely when I am trying to post the discussions. I am so angry with that.

From where I stand, we should be ready to stop all the work in our hand when we find that there is little battery volume left.

hi..jonjee you're problem is normal.. Laptop batteries and all rechargeable batteries meet such situations. Their performance gradually decreases.

to keep your battery health for a long time . keep using like this, charge the battery to 100 % and use it until it reaches 20% and then charge it and using like this will increase your battery performance.

Also do battery calibration for once a month. Just charge your laptop for 100% and drain it to 0% like this you have to do it for 5 times. If you do this you're battery health will increase..

How are you long time? hope that you are doing fine. The life of the
battery of a Laptop would depends upon the capacity of the battery and
brand too, I am using the laptop which has been bought from the European
Country and has good shelf life of battery for more than 6 hours after
starts to get full charging in the night time. If I am going to work
more than 6 hours at my laptop then it will be too risky may or may not
have the guarantee to go off. When I was drafting official notes in the
laptop, suddenly have lot due to battery down, then I have to type all the
things in second time, that was very horrible , what we can do, we have to
finish retyping the matters in order complete the work.

It back time and the life of the battery depends on various factors. Brand, usage, charging habit,the life of the laptop , the applications we are running in our computer, the intensity of the display unit ,additional accessories attached with the laptop etc., But I have red in some articles, that the batteries should be charged only after the complete discharge and it should be charged fully before the use. But I will connect the power supply always and and my battery will not give a back up of more than 30 minutes and some time even less,.Because the laptop is three years old and it iswill be engaged for more than 20 hours in a day.

i got a laptop and its battery depends upon many factors how long would it last. if you are not using it in pwoer saver mode then it would last half as long as it would last in power safe mode. Then also depeneds upon what you are doing . if you are using only MS word or application like this it would last long but if you are on net and opened multiple pages it would last less.. mylot battery last for about 2 and a half hours and it is about 2 years old and i do use it on power saver mode but is always on net with muliple pages opened.

A new battery can provide power for maximum 3.5-4 hours. Never let the battery to be empty, it is harmfull to it. So charge the battery regullarly to keep it healthy.

aaaahh am having a very bad time with my laptop because of its battery back up
when i bought iy i used to get a dsecent backup around 2-2.30hrs on a full charge anbd now it has come down to a very very sad amount around 1-1.3hr..really irritating... i think its time to get it replaced...

I'd go with the others and say 2 hours, again depending on what you do with your computer. Sound and video files will really eat up your battery time, whereas Word uses less.

My Toshiba generally lasts 2 to 2 and a half hours.

For travel, however, I use an Acer Travelmate, which can last up to 5 hours or more.

The ad said it guaranteed 8 and a half hours, so they lied.

No surprise there.

i dont have that kind of event happening with me but i had got a problem with my laptop. me and my husband use laptop sometimes we use to just connect it to the power continuosly while usin as we just cant keep a track of when the battery runs out and also te whole day the laptop is connected to the power and somedays later we could find that the life of the battery is gone and whenever we remove laptop from the power it just run for about 5 minutes and then switches off and hence when we enquired about this problem we came to know the the continuous power supply to the laptop will make the battery life smaller and hence we should not always keep the power supply on and the same problem was experienced by my friend too.
