Was school a waste of time?

i dont think its a waste of time. i really believe that if you really like what you do, it shows and will eventually benefit from it.

try to make connections now that you are still studying. obviously there's going to be on-the-job trainings before graduation, try to do your best during those times. they can help you out by recommending you within the same industry.

my job still requires what i've learned so i think im on track.

you can try: Jobstreet.com, monster.com, etc. I believe they are effective, especially jobstreet. i got several invitation for interview from that site. they are good especially if you are really qualified.

in today's society, people with professional training are more likely to get good jobs. it's not a waste of time. i was a teacher in a primary school. i kept on studying until i get my master's degree. now i am a teacher in a university. schooling will help you get an ideal job. good luck.

Most people are doing the job that has no relationship to their major studied in school.you don't have to connect the career to education. In school, learning knowledge is ranked 2. The 1st important thing is to train the ways of think. I've been working for many years and the conclusion I draw out from my work experience is that the most important thing I got from university is I've learnt how to find the solution of problem. The job I'm doing now has not any relationship with my major in university.

I understand where you are comming from. I think the only way you can make a go of it is to either get a job within an organization like in a fitness or physical rehab center or hospital type setting. Though, I know you are finishing school so you need some experience.... otherwise I'd say if you could do freelance work perhaps? Or even look into working with senior groups for poeple who are housebound ect?

I've got a degree that was a waste I have an associates in Apparel Marketing, so what do I have a degree in working retail I wanted to use it as a stepping stone to becomming a buyer & perhaps continue on to school. But there's only one school and I don't have the money to go back, there are no jobs to be a buyer around here, and ontop of it the school is in a not so good area as well.
Though I've thought about doing some accounting or something as you can do that online and I wouldn't have to worry bout the childcare issues but then I'd have to worry about finding the time and having the ability to concentrate to even do that.
SOmetimes it just seems like things are not working in the direction you had hoped for when you finished highschool.

Well, certainly school and education can help you with life. But the important thing is to take something that you will find useful and appropriate. In my case, I have studied accountancy but ended up working as a paramedic. I was able to finish my accountancy course. Eventually, I found rescue work more exciting and satisfying. Well, I did not regret taking the course, it is also a big help.

No it is wrong that school is a waste of time.. i think..school make us to able..person..and make our future bright..
