Do you accept people who post in a different language?

I hope the guy have done that inadvertently, unconcious of the fact that he was typing in his own language. LOL Anyway, if you can not make meaningful exchanges, what good will that be? If he can use English, which apparently he does, otherwise he will not be a member of the site, I wonder what his purpose is. Either I will deny the request or ask him "is this a joke or something?"

Well I know exactly what you are taking about and encountered the same situation on another social networking site .In this case too I denied teh friendship of the pperson because it would have been difficult to understand the person and lets face ot the aim of these social networking sites is to communicate .

I do accept them, but I'm not quite sure what's the point!

I find it very difficult to accept a friend request on any social networking site where I can't understand what the person is saying. I speak only English fluently and I can stumble my way through Spanish and to a lesser degree, French. I've got many friends that are from foreign countries but we always correspond with each other in English because they were all taught English while they were in school. Were it someone with whom there was an insurrmountable language barrier, I too would have to deny the friend request.

Call me paranoid but...... I would wonder why someone who doesn't know me, doesn't speak my language, and has nothing in common with me would want to be my "friend". How could you effectively communicate? What would you talk about? I would proceed with extreme caution.

We have to expect all types of people here in the net. We also know the dangers and the consequences in all our actions. By just clicking the accept button even if you didn't understand what the person is saying might end up in a not good situation for you. The bottom line is "just be careful" and don't accept people who are trying to make friends even its written in English. And don't get hooked too much to people in the net that you do not know personally. By the way, that includes me.

If someone would write like that then i would sincerely ask him/her to plz write something i can understand in english and if he/she can't write anything close to being understandable then i fear i will have to say a bbye . . . their is no point you see, but if the person is able to understand what i am writing and when i am barely able to make it what he/she is saying i would keep the friendship.

i don't think so. how can i be his/her friend or accept him/her to be my friend if i can not understand what he/she is saying. he/she should try harder to learn my language if he/she really likes me to be her/his friend. that way, we can understand each other and maybe well get along. that way we can have a better relationship.
it's just fine maybe if there is interpretation right every word but if not what is the use.

Well, I can't accept friend who communicate me by their mother tongue except English because I can't understand. How can we get to know each other if we don't communicate well.
