Do you think it's ok to bring your baby to a bar?

Kids in bars is one of my pet peeves and my husband's too. We live outside of a very small town, which has only one bar. Minors are allowed inside until 9:00PM but I lost respect for every adult who brought their child into that bar. It's not a bad place...everyone is pretty friendly...but it's a BAR! People aren't always on their best behavior in a bar. We felt so strongly about this that my youngest daughter was not allowed to set foot inside the place until she was 18. If she needed money and we were there, one of us would meet her in the parking lot. If her friend was cashing her check there...my daughter had BETTER be waiting in the parking lot.

i don't think that is ok for parents to bring their babies to a bar. a bar is a place for adults. it is a place where drinking, laughing loud, loud music, smoking, and unruly behavior happen. it is never good to bring our kids there. it is just like "training" and showing them what we are as parents. well, it is not bad to unwind and be in bars but sometimes the atmosphere and untoward incidents become inappropriate for children to see and witness. smoke, especially in enclosed areas like inside the bar, aren't good for our heath, how much more for the "younger lungs".

I do not like to see a baby or children in any place like that as the whole idea is for people to go to the pub to get away as well as get a break from their own children.Also you never know if there is going to be a fight and then they would get hurt.

Oh my I just had a flashback. First of all by NO means is it ok to bring a baby to a bar. I remember as a child visiting my grandmother in Pennsylvania for two weeks. Each day she would need to go too the store to pick up food for the day. On the way back she would stop at the bar with my sister, brother and myself. I was maybe 8 or 9 years old. At that age I knew this was not a place for me or my brothers and sisters.

I do not think it is right for someone to bring a child to a bar either. I know they allow it in the area we now live in though. That is messed up if you ask me. Kids do not need to be introduced to that so early, if at all.

Absolutely NOT! There's too much going on that little kids can't handle and don't know what's going on. At bars, there tend to be over-drinking, messy drunkards, fighting (or other types of violence), not to mention there are creepy people that frequent bars. I don't care if you work at a bar...go find someone trusting to watch your kids until your shift is over.

hi tuckersheri I do believe here in the US that we have laws that no minor under 18 can be in a bar, and its pretty closely monitored as little babies sure do not belong in bars. like'you say its not healthy for a baby to be there and if a fight
were to break out it would be even more dangerous. no we do
'not even allow little ones in our bars. thank goodness for
that.

Noooo!!Environment is so important in the period of educating kids.Just as what you said bar is not a place a baby.Drinking,noise and fight,it's terrible to think of a bay in such an environment.Bars are like some films which are not fit for baby.

Mine would be a strong NO to taking kids to the Bar. It is not a healthy gesture to expose children to the happenings in a Bar, even though the parents dont do so. But we are not sure about the happenings in a bar and I feel kids should be exposed to such things. For a family outing, we can take them to a good restaurant for a social gathering, with kids in mind.

haha, is that right that not to take baby to bar? Why? This is not the reason. It is good to take baby to bar because they will get idea abot bar and how it works and even how they take the drink. They will decide that to drink or not.
Then why the others are coming to bar? others mean other that babies,i mean adults. To enjoy the drink. Why dont have the right to baby. They will smell that drink at that baby stage and drink at another stage. baby will get an idea about drink and what happens if they drink. Adults know about drink and what happens if they drink, then why dont baby must not enjoy? Baby is also part of universe and have the right to drink. And at last, Adult must have sense to take baby over to bar. This is bad idea to bring baby to bar, though they have right to drink because they have no capacity to take health coditions in a proper way.
