Have you traveled with your children? As we all know, traveling with children is not always easy, especially on long trip by train or car or long-haul flights.

Yes, traveling with children is really tiresome. You need to keep them comfortable and happy all the time. At the same time, you'd better keep tiem away from all dangers. Sometimes, stupid kids may also make some unexpected trouble that we never meet, which often make us disappointed in the whole of our travel.

Have you met such situations before? When you travel with your children, do you have any tips on keeping them happy and safe at the same time? Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Usually when I travel with my kids will do the preparation as usual barang2 children like, maybe like a robot-robotan toys or dolls. the way I would turn on the songs they used to like. if they begin to look bored I'll find a place to relax and talk while joking with them. If the situation had started brightly again I will continue my journey with them.

I have traveled with my children. My son was just 4 months old when I took him to Portugal. He sat on my lap for the journey. When I was 17 weeks pregnant with my daughter and he was 20 months old I went on a 12 hour flight from London to Cape Town. We were so lucky because my son got his own seat. I kept the seat belt done up to make sure he was safe. Some children suffer ear pain on landing and if so chewing can help. Good luck and happy traveling.

I would just suggest keeping them within arms length and packing small things to keep them busy. Maybe a favorite game or book. Crayon and paper or a coloringbook can go a long way. Snacks are also very important. They can buy you a few minutes sometimes.

Hi

When My children were small, i will try to engage them as far as possible and according to their age. If the children are too small simply I will buy some games like brick games, house building, cubes or jick saw puzzles and they will be busy for some time. If they are bored with that I will tell them stories of their favourite topics and I will play words building or antakshari like this for some time and make them sleep for some time. Finally our destination will come and we will get down from the bus or train.

I think preparation is the key when planning a trip with children. You need to have lots of things to keep them occupied like books, colouring pencils etc. My seven year old has a Nintendo DS with a lot of games on it and that keeps her quiet for hours! My friend takes a portable DVD player with them when they travel for the kids but some good travel games can do the trick too.

As far as safety goes the same common sense we use at home is all we need, they need to be watched at all times. I used to put a card around my daughter’s neck when she was younger with my name and telephone number in case she got lost although I held onto her at all times. Watching what they eat is important too.

Have a good trip.

So far as i know travelling with kids is really a daring thing, you have look after them, buy for them, and also have to do for them everything that will keep them happy face,i had the same experience when i have to babysit my little brother when i was suppose to go out with my girl friend it really ruined my day,i think taking children to parks or at anyfair is a good idea to keep them happy but you have to get a huge amount in your pocket to fulfill their needs..

Me and my family travel by bus for 8 hours in going to my mom's house in the province for the summer and the holiday season. We usually stay for a week's vacation. Every time we travel i prepare the following --Clothes. Each one of us has its own traveling bag, Food and Water/Juice, Medicine and pillows.

My sons are both special (with autism)and we need to tone down their being so hyper. Thanks to mp3, it keeps both of them behave throughout the trip plus we travel at night--an overnight trip so that more time will be spent to sleep. Pillows keep them comfy and relax

Hi,getbroser,First of all you take precaution about their health point.Identify the illnessess usually they effected and see that medicines to control those will be kept along with you.Second is dressess, see that sufficient dreessess will be kept along with you.Third, any one of you see that an eye on their activities while touring, like chatting with unidentified persons, see that they don't eat food provided by unknown persons..Have a nice day. coolhappythumbup
