1. rosepedal64 (1277) | 1 month ago | Hi doormouse There is just me and my hubby that live in my house. So I usually spend about 80 dollars a week on groceries. I try to plan my meals out for the week and get his lunch stuff too. I've been working on how to cut that back some too. It is just so hard with the prices going up every week. Great discussion. Keep up the good work.

rosepedal64 (1277) | 1 month ago | I just got back from grocery shopping. I only spent 53 dollars today. I think that will get us thru to next pay check. I still down and planned the meals a little better this time. I will have it made if I don't have to go back during the next week.

3. ShirleyBillingsley (900) | 1 month ago | Before i moved, i was taking care of my grandchildren (two of them), and my daughter, and averaged about 30.00 a week on groceries. I did take a lot of short cuts though. Also, i only bought what was on sale that week.

doormouse (1039) | 1 month ago | how on earth did you manage to shop for £30 a week,my kids eat me out of house and home

|
ShirleyBillingsley (900) | 1 month ago | I was very careful in what i bought. Usually, i only bought what was on sale, and then i cooked around what i had available. I did use a lot of coupons also. Also, i made snacks, cakes, pies, brownies, and popcorn at home, which cut out buying a lot of sweets.

5. vonmac (1651) | 1 month ago | Oh god, Im so excited, tonight we went shopping in Sainsbury and my husband found a load of stuff on the shelf for sale by tonight, and it was only 20 minutes before the shop shut He got Fillet Steak, and Sirloin Steak and a Shoulder of Lamb and 10 packs of sausages and other stuff as well for 30 p per item. Some of the packs of steaks should have been a tenner I had a bag of bunny food, a jar of coffee and Jaffa Cakes The bill at the till(poem) was 10 quid, there was over 90 quids worth of the best of food on the conveyor
Best answer the question, we go bargain shopping a lot, only 2 of us at home and we spend less than 20 quid a week on food
Last week, got 38 pints of milk for 3.80, milk freezes, got some tonight, 5p per pint,
Bargain shopping is great, lol

6. Oceanblueeyes (783) | 1 month ago | Since I live alone I don't really do weekly shopping. I generally pick up items daily as I need them. The amount I spend is different all the time but I would have to say on a average I probably spend around $25.00 a week on food shopping. I'm not much of a meat eater so that cuts down my costs quite a bit.

7. dorannmwin (1710) | 4 weeks ago | We are a family of four and we are now down to less than 100 dollars a week for our food. I cook dinner at home nearly every night (we have cut down eating out from two times per week to 1 time every other week). I write out the plan of what we are planning to eat for the next two weeks and I write out a shopping list. Then I take my list first to Aldi's because it is the cheapest and buy as many of the things there as I can. Then I go across the street to Wal-Mart and get the things that Aldi's didn't have. We aren't eating a lot of junk either. For this week we had soup beans and cornbread last night, we are having meatball subs, black bean burritos, homemade pizza, roast with potatos and carrots and hamburger steak.
