When the First World War broke out, whether directly mention the world as 'The First World War'? Or simply called 'World War? " Because of this ... If from the beginning was a word called 'first' means that they (international community) has predicted there will be a Second World War?
Or does the term First World War had issued after the Second World War broke out?

So i think the first world war statement is made after we all know if there's another second big war in this world which is the second world war. If one day there's another new big war in this world, perhaps it would be called with the third world war. Such thing actually is only a common usage of counting about something. | | | 2. Sandra1952 (1711) | 3 months ago |  After 1918 and before 1939, the First World War was simply known as 'The Great War,' because until that time, it was the most wide ranging conflict ever. Previous wars had occurred between two or three nations, but this war spread across continents.
I'm not entirely sure when the wars were labelled 'First' and 'Second,' but I would guess it started off as a media label to distinguish the two conflicts soon after WWII began.
