The Great Age Debate.  | |  I admit it, I'm a coward when it comes to love. I'm always afraid that if a guy is too much older than me, he'll become abusive and controlling. On the other hand, if a guy is too much younger, I might end up smothering him with motherly intentions.
I usually go for those who are about the same age as me; usually older, simply because they tend to be more mature. It has something to do with the delayed puberty sequence, or so I've heard. From my experiences, people my age tend to be better listeners and more in tune with the idea of "coupleness".

If you create an image of a man base on your experience and from other people's experience we seem to create a limited image of what a man is to you. But, in reality it isn't so our world is composed of many different personalities and none of it would match based on age alone as factor alone.
Start making this belief instead that all men were created out of love but because of the belief system that each person has experienced in his/her life the original persona in him which is a loving person is covered by these belief system he has gathered in him all this time. If you could just peel them off then you can see what a true person he would really be.

Like I have said before, my opinion was based off my experiences. People slightly older then me tend to be more mature. However, I am aware that there will always be exceptions. I myself have known many people who were the exception and turned out to be much more mature than their older competitors. Interestingly enough, my first significant other was a man younger than me. He wasn't younger than me by much, but the personality difference was enough for him to cheat on me with his... mistress. Nevertheless, I have also dated guys older than me who were cheating no-good men. It all depends on their personality, but I find that I have a preference just because of my experiences.
Also, does this mean you don't have a preference? | |

Our belief systems are one factor that molds us who we are and not our age. You cannot simply put a label on all based on your experience alone because each person cam from one source and that is love and from it layers of our experience tend to cover our true selves from others. So in judging a person you should treat each differently from the other and from your experience. From that you can find the true person in each of us. | |

I tried having an older man and guess what were married now and have two kids. From my experience, my husband is so understanding of me and most of the time let things do my way.We have a 10-year age gap. I don't know he might just be too mature for me that he can put up with my childishness sometimes. Even my friends who have husbands older than them, have the same experience. I believe that all of us have the "ONE" being prepared by God. Whether he is older, younger, or of the same age as you, when he is the real ONE your personalities will just complement each other.
