I DO agree with you L2E.. Christmas should happen every day so that people would be more tolarant fo each other & be nicer & kinder towards everyone....You have mmy vote...lori

I wish I was more ready for Christmas. I need to start shopping. I like how you describe the spirit of Christmas! Yet if it was everyday, would the holidays means as much?

I get disability, too, in the amount of five-hundred and forty-one dollars a month, live in subsidized apartments, and have no car. I depend upon a bus service called Transvac to get me to work and back. Yet before I got the job, I was relying on my disability only, and I would go to food pantries, and stuff. So I can relate. One thing I did was to search online for awesome freebies for Christmas, and I made things like food and little Christmas decorations and crafts. I hope the spirit of Christmas will be with you!

Thank you hun, i will have the spirit of Christmas with me, it may be bleak but we will have food... How did you get a job being on disability? I cannot find anything out about going back to work at some place i'd be able to sit..as i cannot stand for long periods of time....I wish you a Merry christmas...lori

I admit I am not quite ready for Christmas, but am somewhat a scrooge with what little money I have. I know, shame on me, right? I think I will be buying only a few gifts though, as I don't have the money to buy many gifts.

I love Christmas, too! It puts me in the mood to create as well. I still have stuff to buy, too, and I am definitely ready for the music, lights, and food!!

Maybe you can get your family members a smalller but equally valuable gift? Money works, too!! Happy 50th wedding anniversary!

not my wedding anniversary - I've never been married, but the roomie's folks - and money is a big issue - the cats take all mine!

I try to pick up small things and sew or other wise craft on them, but this has been going on for months so now I'm making small things for the family

Hi jessi0887! That sounds like a plan, to buy a few gifts a week. That seems more sensible than shopping at the last minute during Christmas rush!

I think with my next check, I will start Christmas shopping. I am going to buy a Christmas present for as many as I can this year, but one at a time. Last minute shopping drives me crazy. I cannot stand the rush of people in a store. I remember last year I worked at Walmart, and it was about a week before Christmas. We had people lined up in the aisles to buy big ticket sale items, and when the time came to begin claiming the goods, people went nuts. I actually thought I would be knocked over, too, you know? On the other hand, I am usually the one wrapping presents late into the morning, so I can relate.
