Do you play music out loud in your working place?

well i don;t play music loud in my working place.. there are a number of meetings going on and it disturbs people... even it does not look good as per the office decorum.. hence i would say that it is better you hear it for yourself and let the others do thier work without disturbing them

I would keep a low volume and make sure it is not a disturbance to others in office. Moreover very rarely only I do get listen to music as there is lots of works here. But if we are having a party in office we do keep music in bit high volume. But while doing office work I hardly listen to any music.

Wow, it depends on what time and what enviroment. It is definately no doubt that I love the music. I love to play the music out loud when I am in relax status and in the daylight as I am concerned that the loud music sould will affect others if I played in the middlie of the night. I will wear the earnphone just avoiding the noise producted from my bedroom. On the other hand, I am freaking out if the neighbour played very loud when in the middlie of the night that I can not concentrate on my work.

When I am posting the comment on mylot, I realized that I did not work with the music on as it will divert my concentration on the thinking. Once I listen to the music, I will put all my heart on it, the words I should remember, the melody that hangs around me.

I love to listen music but not always, when I am in a hurry I can’t enjoy music. That time I prefer complete silence. In office sometimes I play music. Our associate editor is an old man and sometime the sound of music irritates him, even if the volume is low. So I don’t like to see somebody’s bad face. Other colleagues ask me to play the music but I will turn on the music only when I am sure that the old man is on leave.

Nowadays, young people like to wear earphones to listen to the music wherever they go and whatever they do. In most companies, or plants, music is not popular, as it might interfere job of yourself and others. At working places, music, if any, is only available as background music. Loud music is definately not welcomed.

We used to have music on in the background, not too loud as we have to take phone cals. I really enjoyed it as it made the day pass more quickly. There has been a crackdown on this recently as it has been discovered you need to buy a licence to play music in a workplace here. My employer was not willing to pay for the licence so we don't have music anymore. I really miss it!

I'm a retail merchandiser. When I visit stores, the ones who have the most up beat music is the ones I love to work in the most. I sing right along. It makes work more pleasurable. When I'm in my car, sometimes I listen to music and sometimes I like silence. I think music in the work place is a good thing. Too much silence isn't good for you. It's a lonely feeling at times.

When i was still working in a school... we would turn the music loud when there are no students... and that is usually during the summer or at the end of major exams... it is very nice to listen to music while checking papers... but now that i work alone in the office... i rarely listen to music... i like the silence... and there are times that i enjoy the noise students make... there is a school beside my office and the second floor is a classroom...

Music makes the workday go much faster! When I'm working I enjoy music and most other people have iPods with earphones. I can't afford an iPod so I access music from the computer but keep it low so no one else can hear it. Then there are places that broadcast music over the company speakers but that drives me nuts because it's usually "muzac", dumbed down and tamed versions of good rock songs and it totally ruins them!

since I never worked with people that liked the same kinds of music, and since we had to sometimes answer the phones, we couldn't listen to music except on ear phones, I started listening to audio books when I did data entry, really liked that.
