Do you put some limits on your friends?  | |  I have a few close friends and as time goes by, I have noticed that they become too comfortable with me to the point that I feel annoyed already. Realizing that, I started to spend lesser time with them and refuse to most of the things that they ask. I'm the type of person who values privacy and my personal space a lot.
I keep a close bond with them but I never get too close and comfortable at the same time. In my opinion, getting too close and comfortable with each other has the tendency to get unhealthy. How about you? Do you keep your personal space and put some limits to your friends? Or are you open (totally) to them?

In my opinion, it's not bad to put limits to your friends because there are times that when they get too comfortable or too close to us, it becomes hard for us to put a halt on it. You can no longer say "No" easily to them, thinking you might hurt their feelings. One uncomfortable experience I had is when some of my close friends are starting to borrow my clothes, shoes, accessories..etc. I find it irritating because I can't find any excuse not to let them borrow. You know, I'm getting uneasy with them borrowing my stuffs and yet they seem to ignore how I feel towards it. Of course, being a friend to them, I won't show any irritancy though my face gets dense sometimes, but I think it is their responsibility to show sensitivity to the one whom their borrowing things, right? Anyhow, I don't have this problem anymore since we all get to work. lol. I think the best we could do is just put some limits because some friends just can't understand how we feel, that it may affect the way we feel towards them and the friendship we have with them.

 boybato (444) | 1 month ago | Exactly, saying "no" to them becomes a hard thing to do once we get too close to them and we/they start to get used to it. It's better to start putting some limitations and put some defenses up at the start. It's also not easy to hurt our friends' feelings but we must learn how to say "no" at times, especially once it's already getting into our personal space, because it's not healthy. | |

| | | 3. jugsjugs (2999) | 1 month ago |  I do like to friends but it becomes a bit of a bore if i see them all the time as there is nothing to say as we run out of things to say.I also like my space as there are things i need to do as want to do on my own and phone calls that i want to make when there are noone else here.I also find it very hard to do things as i feel that i cant as they are here.
