do you cook, or does your partner? |
|
Out of all of the meals I've had with my partner, I don't think he's cooked a single one. But I don't really mind, because I enjoy cooking, and he does contribute towards the cost of the meal, so it's not like I'm paying for it all or anything. Who does most of the cooking in your relationship?

1. lotterylover (4843) | 3 months ago | My wife doesn't like to cook so if there is any cooking going on it is because my daughter or I are doing it. My wife will do all the yard work, painting, and bookkeeping before she would cook. She does cook on occasions but it is very rare now that I am retired. She usually takes care of the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

3. Binthu (3377) | 3 months ago | Hi Gemmar,
Recent modern days would give the chance to the men for the cooking, because men are having more talent to cook and better than the women, that is the reasons most of the hotel would has the men chef and the foods are very tasty and also it is very great. As you have told that very less number of women only having the talent of cooking skills and also they are not in the home to make the cooking, instead of her most of the time the husband or men in the home would cook the foods because of the good taste, and also giving nice enjoyment. Most of the partners would like to supports to each other in order to make the cooking, which would make both partners too happy.
Have a nice day.

4. book1962 (14761) | 3 months ago | Hi Gemma during the work week we dont cook as my husband gets a good warm meal where he works and I can either eat a meal in the cafeteria or make a sandwich. On weekends or other days off usually we fix dinner together unless its a dish only one of us is used to preparing. My husband says he somehow cant learn how to cook thick soups so if he wants one its my turn to cook. But there are some meals he makes much better than I can fix them and then he prepares dinner.

6. froggieslover (1333) | 3 months ago | My husband and I both cook although most of the time I do the cooking. I enjoy cooking and trying different things so that is why I enjoy doing the cooking. I would say that my husband cooks about once a week just because he knows giving me a break is nice...now when he cooks it means that we get the same sort of basic meals nothing to exotic but I am just lucky that he helps cook at all so i will take what he gives us LOL

7. OpinionatedLady (668) | 3 months ago | I am the cook in our family. If I left it up to my husband we might be poisoned, again. Yes he gave us all food poising one night (before we had kids). I don't let him do more then pasta with canned sauce..lol
I do always have help though. I alternate nights with my kids so each one has their own night to cook dinner with me alone. This way we get a little one on one tome as well as they are learning how to cook so I don not have to worry about them sending a group of 6 of us to the hospital (us, his brother & girlfriend, and his folks).

randylovesdar (708) | 3 months ago | I think it is great you spend one on one time with your kids and allow them to help you cook. Having them cook with you teaches them responsibility and also teaches them how to cook when they become adults. I remember when I was three years old my mom and I would make cookies around Christmas time and she would alow me to help with the measuring, dump the ingredients into the bowl and spoon the dough onto the cookie tray.

8. dorannmwin (2361) | 3 months ago | I do most of the cooking at our house. When my husband and I first met, he did the majority of the cooking, but then when I was home on maternity leave after our daughter was born, I started cooking more and found that I surprisingly enjoyed it. Since then, I've been the one that does the majority of the cooking. In a certain sense over the course of almost seven years it has become therapeutic to me. I also love to get on the internet and find new recipes to find to feed my family. My husband does all of the grilling and occasionally he will cook dinner on the stove, but it is mostly up to me and I don't mind that at all.

10. sk66rc (2250) | 3 months ago | I'd be the first one to admit that I'm a terrible cook. On flip side of that, my girl friend is really good cook. I love just about everything she makes. I guess she knows what I like & don't like so she cooks accordingly. I guess in that way, I have to say I love everything she cooks for me. I've tried helping her once & she kicked me out of the kitchen after about 10 minutes. She told me I only slowed her down & I kept messing up, ha ha ha...
