Do U use Cyber Cafes to access Internet?

Not just for viruses ....infact one must also be aware about the crimes about identity theft.
Many people can steal your identity and then use it ....that's really horrible.And yes if your using gmail and all then your must definitely clear your browsers cached data ....cos if someone gets trail of your login ...then he/she may use it for bad purposes.Thanks for sharing.

Ahh ..but the best place or rather source for information about someone would be a cyber cafe where people can track a particular person and then get details about what he/she surfs or reads or transacts etc.
But if we clear our browser cache and other data then we eliminate the possibility that they may use it or get the information.Thanks for Sharing.

Ahh renting computers ....sounds nice ...i haven't heard of ti though.Thanks nice that you survey first to make sure that your parameters are satisfied as to what you want exactly from the cyber cafe .....Ya key logger can be an issue but unfortunately we cant avoid that actually ...as we don't know if they are there in the background or not ....All we can do it to try hitting the keys like Ctrl _ Alt _ and may be Z or some other key so that if the one who installed the key logger must have not changed the secret key buttons then they are bound to be a combination like this ....

Ya to have internet at home is a little more safer than a cafe.making resumes in a cyber cafe is also risky ....gosh i missed that in the post ....people can get to know you more by a resume than by passwords .....Hence better be safe and try not to make a resume in a cyber cafe.But its great that you got your own machine and internet connection.Ya joining online activities like forums is also risky ....
Hey signing as invisible doesnt ensure that your password stays unseen ...If you have a key logger installed then nothing is hidden form the person who has installed it ....It logs actually all the key stroked and makes ur password visible to who has installed it ...so beaware of that too ......Thanks for sharing.

Hmm thats nice offices and home ...as they got security installed most of the times ....
In fact along with history we also need to make sure that what ever you download you must delete that too ...because mostly when we visit cyber cafes we tend to download resumes ...or important document which are needed that moment and if in a case if a person is in a hurry then he/she might leave those documents as they are on that computer. The next person can use them to find out about you and that can be harmful too ....Thanks for sharing.

Actually playing it safe is the only way we can ensure that we are safe 99%.And the remaining 1% we just cant avoid it because if someone must have installed a keylogger which is in a stealth mode then your done all that you type is with that person ...and he can use it for anything actually .hence its better to be safe and not to give him more info about us.
Ofcourse this can be taken care of even at the home machine after all its all imp and private stuff.
Well all you can do is at home make sure you have a nice firewall installed because windows firewall is of no use literally. That can stop other people getting in your system remotely and this can also help you keep your machine virus free.Thanks for sharing.

Thats nice that you take care of clearing the history after you use the machines which are untrusted.Ya libraries usually dont charge money for surfing. Its safer to use machine for browsing internet at the library because the people who come to library are generally supposed to be of a good nature and intentions. So its likely that they wont tamper with your data or would be interested in getting info about you. But still you never know.... Thanks for sharing.

Ohh actually your mistaken here a bit ... When one restarts the computer it doesnt actually remove the references which you must have used during your sessions. If you have used the internet browser then the links which you must have visited are still there even after reboot. hence this is the exact reason why one must make it a point to delete the browsing history after they are done with their stuff.

Well actually in a cyber cafe the machines are linked to a software which allots time slots to users so that the cafe owner can keep track of the time being used by each user. These softwares may have a monitoring capability who knows .... But still one can protect him/her from any malicious act towards them by atleast clearing the browsing history.
Browsing History: If we clear this its likely that the person who is going to come and use that machine after your gone would not have a clue of what you have visited and what you were doing using that computer. Generally if the person with such interest is a new person then he would not get any useful data from that computer but if its someone who is a lot interested and trained in such acts then he may get some info out of it .....
Clearing temporary internet files and cookies is a must. Clearing cookies is a must because if the other person opens the same site which u must have logged in to he may actually get access to your account.Hence clearing the cookies is very important.

Also you must have used .rar or .zip files many times ...If you are extracting some data from such files which is important then you need to take extra care. When you double click any such archive then it directly opens in a program which displays the files in that archive and if you directly open the files from these archives then they open with ease but in the backgroud these files are first extracted to a folder and then opened from there for you.
hence if you log out directly then these files remain there on the machine and other can get access to them. For this you must always extract files to a directory on a drive which you know ..and then you must delete such extracted files also when you log out ...this ensures that your data will not be accessible to others ....Suppose you have bank statements in such files then its really bad if someone gets hold of it ....Hence be careful.
