Heart Attack in Teens |
|
Nowadays I see a lot of teenagers and youths having heart problems. A nineteen year old in my community recently died of heart attack. This is a really frightening issue I really want to be talked about.

In today's technological age, children are spending more and more time doing sedentary activities such as watching television, playing video games and sitting at the computer. Of course, such things don't normally require any sort of physical activity or promote a healthy lifestyle at all.
The fact that children are becoming addicted to eating unnutritious meals, as well as not getting in their required amounts of periodic exercise are factors in the rising obesity epidemic in America today. Also with fast food restaurants at pretty much every neighborhood corner, all fighting with each other for more customers with competitive pricing, it's no wonder that the rate of obesity is rising at an alarming rate.
In a recent study on youth obesity, children within minority communities are twice as likely to be overweight than those from non-minority communities.
A typical McDonald's meal consisting of a burger, fries and a soda contains over 1190 grams of calories. The average person needs about 2,000 calories daily (more or less depending on various genetic factors, such as height, weight, gender, age and activity level) according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. (fda.gov) You're already close to reaching the daily caloric requirement by eating a typical McDonald's meal, as well as over the recommended amount of less than 10% of total caloric intake for saturated fats. Which is ALOT of calories considering that the daily caloric requirement is only 2000* calories and that two ham and cheese sandwiches contain less than 200 calories, taste just as good and don't have as much cholesterol either!
Fast food corporations aren't helping the problem, they're contributing to it. The corporate decision makers have a business to run, if they were to admit that their foods were unhealthy, they would probably lose a lot of their customers, which means that they would lose a lot of money and in economics that wouldn't be profitable. So they continue to make their foods high in saturated fats, the stuff that high cholesterol levels were made from.
There's the BMI, which is an acronym for Body Mass Index. The BMI is a score which measures total body fat percentage based on height and weight that applies to both males and females.

3. cbeee3 (844) | 1 month ago | It is very scary. I lost my college mate to heart attack, when we were just 21. We had finished college and gotten into an amazing company. He was full of life and never seemed to have any health issues. One day, I received that dreadful call.. the call when I came to know of his demise. He had passed away in office while attending a meeting. I had spoken to him just a week before that. He was so excited since he was working on a new project that he loved. I think in his case it might have been a heart issue that went undetected, since even his parents did not know that he had a problem.
Our lifestyles are changing.. with stress filled lives, smoking, drinking, bad eating and bad sleeping patterns; it's like ALL age groups are at risk.

4. amyson (742) | 1 month ago | teenage having an heart attack increases because most of them are obese.so tendency they are build up of fats in the blood stream and might clog to some arteries of our heart or any valve of the heart.so blood flow cannot flow and there is no oxygen or lack of oxygen so later it gives pain so heart attack happen.it is mostly cause by unhealthy lifestyle and lack of exercises.

These both kind have own risky. These was not recognize its victim. Old,teen even child are not excape. The low pressure are dangerous because body has not enough oxygen to progress the metabolism and effect is suddenly collapse. The high pressure will make the body feels more oxygen, make body cramp and effect to muscle at a long period of time can cause death. These can not be stop but can prevent it from become more serious.
