Do you eat more during the weekends? |
|
I know we eat more during the weekends. Hubby is home from work . . . and we can all eat together for all our meals. I can prepare decent, special meals and snacks because I have more time to do so, or we can simply go out to eat at our leisure. Having more time to relax can mean more time to munch out!
How about you? Do you tend to eat more during the weekends too?

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | Hey fellow Californian! It definitely does not snow where I am . . . I wouldn't mind a few days of it though! Is it crazy windy where you are . . . it is here and it suddenly got cold (cold for my part of CA anyway - hee hee).

geminikid (1071) | 4 weeks ago | I live very far north. Right between the two borders. Oregon, and Nevada. The name of the town is Burney, with a population of over 3000. You blink your eyes when you pass through, you miss it

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | Hmmmm . . . Burney, I'll have to look that up! I'm in Southern CA . . . ever hear of LA? Hee hee. I'm surprised there are not more LAers here . . . or at least I haven't come across many to my knowledge. Well howdy neighbor! Hee hee!

2. ilyzium (402) | 1 month ago | You know I will definitely say that I do. I find during the week with working, I pack my meals and tend to eat the same way - very healthy. However, on the weekend we quite often spend time with family or entertaining and I think we tend to go "all out" sometimes making all kinds of creative, gourmet dishes. It's just more fun too I think. I might eat a little bit more on the weekends, or maybe have some "forbidden food" but I always make sure that I exercise then so it feels like I've burned up my calories, even if I haven't! I think most people tend to indulge more on the weekends, maybe out of boredom or they just want to eat more.

much2say (606) | 1 month ago | That is true, we are more routine during the week and that tends to keep us in a particular eating habit - it's good you keep it healthy! With family around on the weekends, we try to make it fun . . . so what's a little more sweets or butter here and there - hee hee. Knowing me, I exercise more during the week to make up for the weekend splurge. I think weekend eating is part of the entertainment!

3. Brad2289 (141) | 1 month ago | i do aet more on the weekends just because on the weekends i have more time to make nice meals and take the time to make and prapre. It is always fun for the family to help make this food. In the end though, we always end up eating more because theres more time to enjoy it and no one is in a rush.

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | I feel the same way as you do! On weekends I can take the time to cook and make something near gourmet - hee hee. My little one likes to help in the kitchen too . . . but during weekends she'd rather play with her daddy, so then I can be faster in the kitchen - hee hee. Because the meal is better, I guess we eat more of it!! It's nice to eat - and eat together when we don't have to run off somewhere!

4. justbeingtiffany (967) | 1 month ago | i would say no but i would be lying. at first i thought i didn't but then summer came and i gained like 5 or more pounds. so obviously i eat more at home than i do when i go to school. because at school i have to pay for lunch so i bring my own lunch to school. i eat only one thing. like only one orange then the next day i might bring sound then the next day only oreos my eating habit is bad. and when i get home i'm always starving so i eat and eat and eat i just can't stop eating because we always have snacks and pop and lots of fried food but when i'm not at home i don't have much to eat so i can control myself. so i eat more during the weekend because i'm ether always near a fast food place or at home with a full cabinet of food. right now we have 2 dozen donuts and cup caks yum!

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | Oh my goodness! Sounds like you need to stock up some healthier foods for school!! I know the feeling though . . . when you're in school, you're just too busy in every direction to even think about food. I remember sometimes it was just easier for me and my friend to hit the vending machines for a meal . . . and that was so bad. At home on weekends, I used to get real food from home too - my mom had food stocked at all times. Well, hope you can find a way to eat healthier during the week!!

6. starscream (330) | 1 month ago | Somewhat i have to agree with this. In weekend we have nothing to do. We're parted from our work so it is possible that we get attention towards food. And once we eat it we again spend some time with tv and computers. Then using too much of brain with them. We kinda feel exhausted. So again we feel hungry.
So yes, spending more time away from work and with more time with computer and tv. We feel hungry. Especially on week-ends.

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | Ah, sounds like you get the munchies during the weekends (like most people!). When the focus on work is gone, we can focus on ourselves. We are probably more aware of our bodies needs when our minds aren't on work . . . so it lets us know that it is definitely hungry!

|
much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | I guess kids are generally more hungry because their bodies are growing! For us adults, it's just our weight that keeps growing - hee hee. Yah, I think kids can eat when they're bored . . . just have to watch out that they eat healthy foods during that time and not the junkie stuff. Still, I think I can eat more than my little one (for now!).

8. codris (312) | 1 month ago | sure i eat more in weekends, beacause in the other days i am at the universit so i can't eat a lot, and i've to eat only something fast beacause i don't have time to enjoy a big lunch. i come back home at 20:00 so i'm not so hungry in the evening. Today i enjoyed very heavy things like "russhian salad" lasagne and "duck in orange", i'm so full that i can't move.

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | It's interesting how many here have already said they don't eat much when they are in school! I guess everyone is on the go, and too busy to even scrounge around to find something to eat. I remember we had places to eat within school, but often it wasn't exactly cheap to eat at the cafeterias there. I also remember being starved late evenings - so I'd eat junkie food at that time. Glad you got to enjoy some gourmet dishes!!

| 9. Ds7soccer (10) | 1 month ago | Sometimes being home on the weekend and not being busy with anything to do will lead me into the kitchen and snacking on something. It's just something to do until you find something else to do. Why not just eat? So yes I eat a lot more on the weekends.

much2say (606) | 4 weeks ago | Would you say you eat more on weekends because of boredom? Snacking is so easy to do when we're at home . . . and cheaper too so we don't feel as hesitant to just walk over to the fridge. Yep, we are snackers too!
