I am dreaming of a white christmas... are all your christmases white? |
|
In my travels in the past I've experienced seeing lots of snows during Christmas time and it was really a new experience for me then. We don't have snows in the East and I begin to miss them now.
Given a chance, would you like to see a snow this Christmas?

cheers!

manong05 (2930) | 3 months ago | The ultimate effect of global warming is actually a deep freeze, it will drop the temperature once the ice caps melt and ocean conveyors are altered. Remember the day after tomorrow.
enjoy! white christmas is already in the Philippine horizon.

3. cloudwatcher (3491) | 3 months ago | I had white Christmases for the first 11 years of my life. In fact, it was white for a couple of months each year. On my returns to England, two of them at Christmas time, I had one day of snow one year, but the next day all the white was gone.
Here in Queensland, Australia, I will never see snow where I am, but they do occasionally get snow in the mountains near the southern inland border of Queensland, and of course we have vast areas of snow in the Snowy Mountains in the southern States.
For those who enjoy the snow and cold of Christmas, and sit before your warm fires eating a huge Christmas dinner, think of us here in the tropics, where the sun is blazing relentlessly and the humidity is seldom below 90%. We will most likely be eating a cold Christmas dinner and trying to replace our fluid loss with many drinks of cold water.
There is something special about a snow scene, but Christmas is Christmas regardless of the weather. I won't miss the snow, but I might wish for a cold breeze from it . . .

manong05 (2930) | 3 months ago | hi cloudwatcher. Yes, I was told that many parts of Australia is pretty much the same as here in the Philippines where we don't see snows. My first experience was so exciting as I only see them in books when I was young boy. It was like a fairy tale and to many of us Filipinos, it is usually like this. I miss it though. But as you said, Christmas is Christmas regardless of weather, the most important thing is celebrating the true essence of Christmas, the Son of God becoming a son of man so that we, sons of men can become sons of God.
enjoy life!

Maybe because we don't have snow in our country that's why i love to somehow play in the snow. hehehe. I think it is much more fun especially when i am with my family. I hope it is still not too late for that. Hope someday i can see, touch and experience snow.

6. moneymakingtoday (1814) | 3 months ago | White Christmas is one christmas that I have yet to experience. I am dreaming of a white Christmas, yes. It would be a whole new experience having to wear several pieces of clothing to keep me warm. If ever, it would be the first time to set foot on an icy ground (but a friend jokingly told me that I have to be careful of the yellow snow ... someone must have been there first with a full bladder being emptied ... hahaha). When I was younger, we used to "invent" snow in our Christmas decorations. We sprayed snow flakes on the glass walls and made Christmas trees made out of white soap. It seemed to give us that cold effect, though. hahahaha

manong05 (2930) | 3 months ago | We used to do that too when we were kids and we had lots of fun. Yes I remember wearing at least 3 clothes aside from the outer coat to keep me warm. I didn't notice a yellow snow though LOL The place was just too vast and completely covered with white. I wish I can have the chance and the resources to see it again. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know..... I'm singing now. hahaha
enjoy!

7. wookieekyut (362) | 3 months ago | When I went to Florida last year, I thought it would be my first white christmas but there was no snow, hehe... I saw fake snow in North Carolina when we went to Sugar Mountain for a ski experience. I said fake because it was man made snow. I finally saw snow in Detroit when I was boarding a plane bound for Japan.

8. rodsdman (120) | 3 months ago | here in northern New Hampshire it is 98% certian that we will have a white christmas. In my 36 years I only remember 1 where we didnt have snow. It was neg10degF so if we had gotten any precipitation we whould of had snow, it was just a dry year, by the time spring came they were saying we were short 20 inches of rain from normal. I love a white christmas, as long as it doesnt snow so hard that driving is bad, since we always travel on christmas day. I am going to be in NC this year, dont know if it will be white or not.

manong05 (2930) | 3 months ago | It would be nice if I see snows again. Yes sometimes it snows so hard that it makes driving difficult. I remember seeing tires wrapped in chains just to improve the traction.
