I can understand that. I would feel safer giving out a telephone number than an address but of course they can get your address if they know your landline phone number.

I retired in 1999 and I think 2001 was the last year they offered that. GUNS!......I love guns. You mean thos liberals down there have guns too?

Texas isn't the only place that has guns you know. Relatively near where I live, there is a small community that has signs in their front yards (I use that term loosely, by the way) that brag that "Guns don't kill people. WE kill people!" Now that right there is beyond red-neck.

No them's freakin idiots! I'll use my gun, in defense of myself or my son, but only if I HAVE to, am given no other choice and I'll warn em first. The only exception to that is if my son is in direct harms way and I have no chance to warn the perpetrator. Mama bear WILL come out of hiding...just sayin. I would not take a life unless my or my son's is in jeapardy and I would NOT brag about it afterwards. I'm sure it would tear me up. I may tease...but I'm no idiot.

I'm sorry, Irish. I wasn't meaning to offend you or imply that you would do anything of the kind. The people that I'm referring to are a very small community of people that have "issues" let's say. They keep to themselves and people don't bother them. Their signs are more as a warning, since they do not take kindly to any type of outside interference. I have never actually heard of them harming anyone, though.

I know how to shoot, since my daddy taught me how to properly handle a gun at a very young age. He and my brothers were hunters, so he thought I should at least be able to handle a gun, and they even tried to take me hunting with them. I couldn't pull the trigger, though, so they eventually gave up. There is only one time that I was ever put in a position that I might have to pull the trigger on someone. I was being stalked, and the guy showed up at my house in the middle of the night while my daughter and I were home alone. Fortunately, my doggies took care of him, but I cringe every time I think about how close I came to having to make that decision.

I would prefer calling people from my home phone since it is free long distance for me(within the USA of course). I am a harmless old lady and severla mylotters also like to read so I could send some books.

There are several on here I would like to get together with also.

I do not think I am in any danger as I live in a pretty secure area even though the neighborhood is bad my building is secure.

I do not have alot of free time so traveling to meet someone more than 15 miles away would not doubt be out of rhw question but a phone call now and then would be nice or sending books to other mylotters that like to read is something I would like to do.

OH YES We all need to listen to those warning bells. I would never overstep any boundaries and start calling anyone daily or anything like that, just on a holiday to say happy holiday or if I know someone has been ill or down in the dumps.

Hi Free_man. What a shame there are so many drunks and druggies. Maybe if they had some hobbies like you do they could put some of their bad habits on the back burner for awhile.

Would love to find dear friends that we could spend time playing cards,dice, or doing some kinds of crafts with. We make all kinds of crafts. We even make candles that is a good thing for during the winter cause it keeps the house warm.
