Do you really care for your Stuff? Are you possessive? |
|
We are possessive for living things like girlfriend and friends. But many of us are possessive for their stuff too. Like I am too much possessive for my stuff like my laptop or mobiles. I can't see them in other's hands. I am very possessive for my Pens too that I use to write with. I keep them refilling but never change them. Also, I care for my stuff a lot. For instance, I purchased my laptop 2 years back but it still seems like as it was on very first day, though some dust settled in the corners. Also, I care what I use. I never through my stuff easily. How about you? And are the thing you really care and possessive for?

1. msfrancisco9369 (1816) | 1 month ago | I am possessive of those things and stuff with sentimental value to me like the first gift of my husband or anything from him, a pair of earrings from my mom, blue dress from my dad, a card from my kids, my pillow since i was in high school that until now i am still hugging it. Lots of things --with all those stories and memories behind it-- no one can ever throw or take it away from me.
Lastly, my wedding ring and those things that i gave my self (that i bought when i had my first salary in a company, consultancy fee, and souvenirs from places that i visited).

2. ebsharer (2474) | 1 month ago | While I don't agree with your first statement I do agree that there are certain things I am possisive of.
I'm not possisive of my husband or my friends at all. Not even a little bit.
I don't lend things out to people because I don't want anything to happen to them. but if a friend is at my house I'll let him/her use my things.
I guess I'm not a very possessive person at all.

therisingsun (309) | 1 month ago | Hey, thanks for response. Well thats your think. Everyone has not same kind of thinking. All are not possessive but many people are, and i'm the one. But I think we must not be over possessive though we can be possessive.

| 3. leasmom (6) | 1 month ago | As for me, I´m not possessive at all, maybe even bordering on being too careless with my "worldly things", including money by the way. This changes however when it comes to things that I love. These are, for the most part, my books, certain things I have from my granny as well as certain things my little daughter has made. Nothing of monetary, but rather of emotional value to me. When it comes to laptop and the like, like in your example, I do have an eye on it simply because I use it a lot and would like to continue to be able to do that. As I wouldn´t have the money to replace it if broken I have a watchful eye on it, but definitely not possessive.

therisingsun (309) | 1 month ago | Hey leasmom, for sure I'm possessive. But for possessiveness, there must be an emotional touch. I am having some kind of sentimentals with my stuff and hence i'm so. Thanks.

| leasmom (6) | 1 month ago | Couldn´t agree more about the emotional touch mixed with a spoonful of sentimentality when it comes to the few things I do feel possessive about. :-)

4. Bluepatch (2456) | 1 month ago | I do care about my stuff and I like everything I have to be my own. I use my pens until they're through to the end of all the ink. The laptop I have is from my office and I'm always thinking I'd prefer to buy my own but I can't because I don't have the money. My clothes I like to buy or have made for myself but right now a lot of them are not and I dislike that. Other things I like to pay for myself but my fridge was half-given to me by my brother who paid up the balance of the payments. So it goes, I guess.

5. padmameera (811) | 1 month ago | I am also possessive about some of my stuffs like my mobile, lap top etc. But there are many small gifts I received from my intimate ones, I am possessive also. Even I keep letters and cards from my childhood friends. I have my one or two school note books with me even now. I can not throw these precious things away.

6. margieanneart (16820) | 1 month ago | I'm not really, as we can not take anything with us when we pass on. It's a gift for us, while we are here. Materal things can be replaced, unless it is old from the past with special memories. Then I will cherish it, but I am not possessive in any way about anything.

7. Fulltank (1044) | 1 month ago | Nope, I never been so possessive at my stuffs as long as they're used by a member of my family and friends whom I trust. My cellphone often used by my kids to play with some games now and then. My laptop too, when driving or going to some place, they tend to use it. And my personal stuffs like shaver, cologne, etc. my kids always mess them around. As long as it doesn't get broke and nothing bad happens to them, its okay with me.

therisingsun (309) | 1 month ago | I guess being possessive is something like a childish behaviour. People of my age, college going may not understand such line of maturity easily and sooner. Thanks for realizing this

Fulltank (1044) | 1 month ago | actually, i only let it used by people whom I trust the most. Friends and colleagues which didn't met my standards are exempted to this. Got to have passwords for personal files on my laptops or keep it hidden so that others won't see them. lol.

| 8. stevenmoore88 (11) | 1 month ago | I do care about some of my stuff, like movies and games, because i rely on these things for entertainment. I also really care about my computer because, well it's like my life. All my music, lots of games, tv shows, movies, all sorts of entertainment on it. Not to mention all teh pictures i have taken for so many years of so many people i will probably never see again. All the documents of my writings, thoughts poems whatever may be, all saved in one convenient location. I've spent so many years on that thing that i don't know what i would do if i lost it.

9. stee09 (101) | 1 month ago | Coming from a big family I wouldn't class myself as possessive over my things. When I was growing up I had 5 sisters ad a brother to play with so most of my stuff was shared with them. It wasn't like they didn't have there own stuff they just seemed to like my stuff more lol. I think being to possessive can be a bad thing like little things playstations, iPods etc are little things but I would still be angry if my brother or sisters broke my laptop or desktop but i still let them use them I was always told sharing is caring as a kid guess that kind stuck with me.
