Drinks in the party, is it normal? |
Hello all. I had a chat with my sister lately and she told me that in the place where she lived, there is always wine in every party and she always has a glass of it.Well of course only for healthy purposes.Which is kind of different from where(home) we grew up.Living in a family with a very high religious belief, is kind of different from the real world. Of course we do not drink beer or wine. I wonder if it is normal to have drinks(I mean wine or beer or something) in every party in your place.Do you care to drink one?Is it really necessary?

I don't really have parties here at my house, so for me it's hard to say. But when I go to friend's parties they tend to have beer and wine available for anyone that would like some!

ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello jenn,
Oh i see so it is what almost everyone does. Most parties that I have attended so far had drinks too but I do not drink at all. I guess others might say that I am so boring and so uninterested. Thanks for the share.

2. mynameiscindere (314) | 3 months ago | Hi vbonjoc,
Drinks in Party..! To me, Can't say it as normal, It depends only on the person and his/her background...!
But Drinks in a party is pretty normal these days, I accept that..! As you said you are from a very high religious family and from a different world...! Many of my friends who are from similar to your family take Drinks, Non-veg etc., ...! I don't care to take a drink, But if I wish to have, I'll have it...! It is not really necessary...!
| |
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello myname..Yeah i guess it totally depends on your value. Well I still have my minds open about drinking. I know some are using it for healthy purposes. I believe it also depends upon the motive why you drink.
| |
mynameiscindere (314) | 3 months ago | Oh friend,
Sorry if I've mistaken you, If any one takes drinks for health purposes, That will be regular...! That doesn't need to be in Party...!
I'm not much aware of this, For what health issues do they take drinks...?
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | My sister told me that most people have drinks in the party not for getting drunk or something but as a part of healthy living.Wine has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, certain cancers and slow the progression of neurological degenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. But only of course if you drink only for what is recommended for your body.
| |
mynameiscindere (314) | 3 months ago | Hmmm, Thats a very good piece of information to me, But beware, There are 99% of people say reasons for their mistakes...! Hope your sister is not like that...! I'm afraid whether she can be in her control, When ever people go to party they drink too much and go out their control..! Too much of anything is not good for Nothing...! Even for healthy issues it should be in limits I think...! :-)
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Yeah of course.Sister is already a grown up.I believe she knows what she is doing.
| |
mynameiscindere (314) | 3 months ago | Oh, That's good to hear, You really trust your sister, It's getting hard to trust on people nowadays...!
Your sister is so lucky...! I would wish to be your sister but that's impossible,
Me too lucky, there are a few members in my family who trusts me completely, I'll never loose their trust...!
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Oh yes of course because she is my sister. And she is a great person for me.And we do trust each other in the family.

| 3. CrimsonRain (83) | 3 months ago | A lot of people do that. They can't party without having a drink or two. For them, party means drinking. But I'm different. I don't drink at all. I don't care what they say about me. Whatever they say won't change the way I think about myself. It would only change the way I think about them. I just wanted to stand up for what I believe in and do whatever I think is right.:)
| |
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello Crimson. I am absolutely thinking just the way as you do. I have been all the way with my friends and people I have meet form my past. When I was in college, my classmates would force me to drink. And I will not drink so that will make them hesitant about me thinking I was kind of different and I am a hard person to be with. But growing up, I realize that it is normal only not to the point of getting drunk.I have meet people who use it for healthy living. So it totally depends upon the purpose of drinking.
| |
mynameiscindere (314) | 3 months ago | Hi CrimsonRain,
Oh what a great person, If all that you said is true...! Then Me too wanted to be like you, Me too like you only, But when some of my best peoples compel, I give up...!

4. dpk262006 (9124) | 3 months ago | Hi dear! You availability of drinks is a norm in the most of the parties. It is open to an individual whether s/he feels comfortable drinking at a part/public place and whether alcoholic drinks suit him/her or not. Your sister sipping wine in parties is absolutely her own choice and if she enjoys it and does not bother what others think about she drinking, then let her continue. If you feel uncomfortable taking drinks at a public place, then you can abstain from the same and go for some soft drinks. For that matter I abstain from consuming alcoholic drinks in the parties, as I do not relish such drinks and I know it very well that these sort of drinks make more harm to our bodies than good.

ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello dear deepak. I don't feel any comfort in drinking whether in public or private places. Maybe because I grew up without any of this things around me.What I really thought is a little alcohol in the body is good for the health. But most people abuse it.Some of my friends(boy) are really happy when there is a party because for sure they will end up drinking lots and lots of beers again.

5. ybong007 (1064) | 3 months ago | I have not been to a party without drinks, alcoholic or otherwise. Maybe because everyone are expected to have a good time, and the best way to have a good time is when you have no inhibitions which drinking a small amount of beer or wine is enough can help. But it's really up to the party goer to refrain himself from consuming too much. For me drinks are necessary in a party if you want to have a good time, but it has to be consumed in moderation of course. Cheers!

ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello bong, It's good to know you have self-discipline when it comes to drinking. Some men don't care at all as long as they are having fun with what they have been doing. Well as long as they do not cause anything harmful, it is fine.

7. nautilus33 (748) | 3 months ago | Hi! I rarely drink something else then juice and even when I'm at a party I can drink a beer or a glass of wine, but not more. I think alcohol is something not necasery in our life and I can live wihtout it. I don't think that the alcohol must be something so important at the parties!!!
| |
| |
ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello nautilus.Yeah i believe too that it is not that important but maybe only for people like us who does not appreciate drinking a lot. I do not even drink wines in party. Only a glass of it is not bad.

8. Bluepatch (2483) | 3 months ago | Wine is a pretty good drink. I know a few people who just love it. At one time I used to make home made wine myself and it came out really good. The only thing was that I decided to have a glass every night so every single night I went to bed soused. I didn't like that. So I stopped drinking the wine. I might add, too, that home made wine is easy to make and really good depending on how you do it.

ybonjoc (981) | 3 months ago | Hello bluepatch.I am interested about that homemade wine. What do you put in the wine?I have a friend who loved making homemade wine too.She adds pineapple and soft drink with the wine. I have tasted it, it's good but it tastes acrid for me.

neildc (3531) | 3 months ago | there are some points why i really stop drinking if i can stop. your hubby said that drinking makes the conversation even deeper and more interesting? yes, it's true, but there are conversations that end in heated arguments that will eventually ended in a fight, worse, is when someone gets hurt. i have a lot of experiences or i witnessed a lot of troubles which started in drinking sessions. if we can control drinking in the earliest possible time, we stop.
there were some times also in the past, that i got so drunk and on the next day, i never know what i did or i forgot almost everything.
one time, we went to a part in a disco house, with my in-laws. i was too drunk. i never remember doing this and that. i only believed them when i saw the video the took on me, what a shame.
one time, again, i drove home relatives who came to party with us. and on the next day, i asked my wife, "what time did we got home, and who sent cousins back to their home?" i was so scared when i knew from her, that i was the one who drove them home with the cab.
my brother-in-law is a bailed accused for stubbing his drinking buddy. they were drinking, chatting, and later on, my BIL gets the knife and hit his buddy 3 times in the body, almost killed him.
so, that's it. i am afraid to drink more of what i can handle, what my body and mind can take. i am afraid not only for myself, but also for my wife and the kids.

10. nrtan2000 (1027) | 3 months ago | I think most people drink just for the reason of socializing with other people around. Some drink for the purpose of getting drunk but i think its really better to stay away from those who get drunk to avoid trouble. I don't also drink because i dont like that taste of alcohol and besides i am also allergic to alcoholic drinks so i'd better avoid those kind of drinks so that i wont turn red.hehe
