Do You Laugh When Someone Trips Off?

When I was around 15 my dad and I went down town shopping. Somehow he tripped over the curb, which was even with the pavement. He started flailing his arms like a demented windmill, and twirled like a ballerina, only he was headed like a freight train towards a huge plate glass window. He twirled into the window and bounced off it with a resounding twang. He continued flailing and twirling and bounced off a parked car and twirled and flailed back into the plate glass window. He bounced off it again and twirled and flailed towards the car again, only this time he managed to grab a sign post and hang on.

During this whole time I was leaning against a parking meter and laughing my a$$ off at the whole scene. Of course my dad snarled at me "IT ISN'T FUNNY!!!!" Which made me laugh harder. To this day every time I think of his tripping I remember that sight and I still laugh my a$$ off.

Yes, I laugh. It comes naturally when you see someone trip. I think it comes from the slap stick movies. I even laugh at myself when I trip...

I really try not to laugh when I see someone trip off and fall. But sometimes I can't help myself and I tend to break into laughter. Ok it all depends on the manner, way and seriousness of the tripping and falling. If the person trips and falls in a funny manner of course we all can't help but laugh at them. But if the person trips and falls and hurts himself really bad then I don't think I or anyone can laugh at the person.

no. specially when they are badly hurt, if they are women or if they are old ones. i laugh when my brother trips off and i even tell him good for you. har har har. we always do that to each other but the funny part here he trips more than i trip so i get to laugh at him most of the time than he laughing at me. i also do that to people who are rude. so be sure you wont trip in front of me har har har joke

Yeah, your right...I guess our first reaction is to laugh. But I've experienced tripping and even falling in the stairs, and no, its not a good experience.

If he/she is a close friend, I will make sure that he/she is fine and then I will laugh out loud. Then will try to mimic him/her. But if I don't know the person, I will not laugh and will try as much as possible to ignore what I have witness.

It depends...some people trips off awkwardly some really seriously. I wouldn't laugh if the person who trips off hurts him or herself. Unfortunately it's a natural reaction that I get to chuckle if someone trips off awkwardly...like accidentally make a funny body movement out of it. I know it would look a bit mean but it's a natural reaction on my part and I don't really mean to react that way. This is specially true if the person looks so confident or sassy and then suddenly ooops! You know what I mean?

No, I never show and even though i like to laugh i still manage to control myself as i know the feeling of being the object of laughter it kinda hurt and very offensive things to do.

Well, yes actually I do and like most of the people here who responded...it is uncontrollable!!
