do you care what other people think?

When we are walking on gods path, some thorns and stones will hurt us on the way, it is common, just ignore and walk staright,it will take you to the ultimate life, when god is for us, why bother of others???

I have never encountered such things like that so far. And if ever i will, i will just let them think what they want and let them be. Coz as for me, I know I'm not a bad person and never do anything I'm ashamed of so why should I worry what others think, right? Let them be.

But mostly I just tell them "you have your beliefs and I have mine. I chose to believe in God, you chose to not believe in God."

first well you should not tread your Christian life as a religion, because one thing is Real Christianity is based on a life on a person when people see changes in you then they will stop asking why you believe and spent time with God.

And remember when you started living for God well satan is not happy for you so he will give all his effort to make you feel different and discourage you.

Its just 1 year about since I lay my self to God and I receive persecution each day. Even my relatives do this things to me but in God i can do all things...

Hi Gemma.. this is indeed an interesting discussion topic. You and I are in the same boat, in the sense that we both feel somewhat uncomfortable by questions or responses or even ATTITUDE we get from people who do NOT believe as WE do..

I am ongoingly dealing with that situation- not so often, but at various times.

Here is my thinking.

You have every right to your beliefs and I respect that right; plus, I respect YOU, IF you and your beliefs do not infringe upon mine or others and you do not annoy me with remarks like your flatmates do/did.

I was raised Catholic.. so I do understand the beauty of the teachings and comfort of believing in a great loving power, and all that really means!

I have too many friends and relatives who are so blessedly wonderful and loving and giving and religious too, for me NOT to understand the value and importance of religion and God in their lives. I am so grateful for that.

So when we meet, you and I.. I will be ever so glad for the time we share. .. as long as the discussion is NOT all about converting me to the right religion or the word of God or how I can possibly NOT believe as you do and how I will suffer in eternity.

I DO care what you think. I truly do! What is more, I do care if you are happy in life also.

But, my trip, my journey is my own to make, and I want to be allowed to have that so.
So when next we meet, and I am a flatmate of yours.. I will not question you about your love of God and all that it includes for you. I will wish you a very good day and time and that you come back to me safely. And that with a hug before you leave.

And you? I will already know that, since we are flatmates, that we respect each other as we found each other.. good caring people with neither one of us a threat or discomfort to the other. You will have come to know me and in your wisdom have also come to accept that I do not have the fundamental belief you do, but I am still a good person, nonetheless.

The reason your friend said that is because the existence of Jesus is not proved. I saw that on a television series on Christianity. Also there are doubts on who wrote the Bible and the credentials and existence of the people who wrote it. Also the stories are confusing to many.
There were many other things in that series. I do not remember other things which put doubt on the religion.

No not really. People should like you for who you are, and if they do not then they are not the people you should be hanging out with. Be yourself do not try and be something your not.

With reference to your question, its almost a similar situation happened to me before wherein I have joined a Christian Group in our place. During those times, I was being asked by so many people. They throw different questions to me why I decided to join in that Christian Group.

Days have passed by, I just raised everything in prayer. I ask God to help me to face the challenge. I have thought that situation is a challenge for me. Then, as the days goes by, I just notice that the people who always throw questions on me suddenly stopped asking. And thinking, maybe God already move into the situation. Perhaps a good weapon or strategy is to ask God for help and pray a lot because as you go up in the ladder of christianity, there will be a lot of people who will try to hinder and pull you down.

i couldn't care a jot about what other people think, if they want to voice their opinions then fine, let them, but it doesn't make a blinds bit of difference to me, let them say what they like, it's nothing to do with anyone what i believe in...

I have found the best thing to do is just smile and say it makes me happy, then leave it alone, you may be surprised at who comes back later and asks you thoughtful questions and may even allow you to help them. Blessings
