strange cakes

Well the sauerkraut broke down after being mixed with the electric mixer and it more or less made the cake moist, I could not taste the sauerkraut at all. It just looked like a regulat devls food cake.

Yea, I forgot about the mayo cake. I never had one or made one though. Cake has enough calories much less adding mayo to it!

I know; mayo is loaded with fat and calories. You should try the diet soda cake. One egg white and 12oz of diet soda. Bake according to box times but the cake really rises so just fill the cake pans half way.

Actually, you use the fat free mayonnaise in that particular cake, and not all that much of it either. Although it sounds a bit peculiar, it is unbelievably moist and delicious.

Just goes to show, you never know until you try it! Although, I have to admit, the saurkraut thingy does sound a tad, well.....GROSS

I just might stop by the store today and buy the ingreients and make it so I can let everybody know how it is. This is Thursday and its what I call my goof off day. Its suppose to rain all day so if I get to the stroe early before the rain I will have a good rainy day project. BUT, I am a terrible cake icer. I can never get the icing on right even if it is already made icing.

Have not tried the sauerfraut cake yet my friends. It has been to warm here where I live to heat up the house with the oven. Maybe in a few more weeks it will be about 20 degrees cooler then I will try.

It has been more than 30 years since I had the sauerkraut cake but NO it could not be tasted. The diet soda cakes are good.

Do use a 12 oz can of coca cola? Do you add it to a box mix or is it a scratch cake?

It is a scratch cake. I WOULD HAVE TO LOOK AT MY RECIPE I haven't made it in awhile but i think u do use a whole can of coke.

I looked up the sauerkraut cake and there are a few different ones for a from scratch cake. If you make one I will be on the way. All Missouri mylotters email me and I will pick you up on the way. I will bring the coffee.

I never was much on mayo. I prefer Miracle Whip and that probably would not work as well since only egg whites are used in Miracle Whip.

That was supposed to be moist.

I really like tomatoe soup but somehow tomatoe soup cake just does not sound right.

KETSUP? I have heard of applesauce added to cake mix instead of oil to make a cake that is reduced fat. I am not sure if I ever had one but I know I never made one.

Both of these cakes use a cake mix so be brave my friend and try the sauerkraut cake if you can find a devils food cake mix on sale.

I made those alot and shared them with neighbors. I used Cherry Chip and the funfetti with red and green for Christmas time. I like my cookies alittle mor crispy though. Is there something I could add to make the more of a cruncy cookie?

Thanks for BR, as for making the cookie cunchy, I don't know. If you let it bake more it might burn, but I suppose you could try that.
