Dollhouse miniatures

Agreed, but unfortunately those aren't mine. It's my current "inspiration." I know how to make the apples, I just have to figure out how to make the caramel...

I have two cats and they definitely are curious, but they have never tried to eat them. My dog, however, is a bit more curious. However, fur can be a problem when it comes to clay... clay just loooves to get tiny speckles in it, ruining the overall look.

I've been running around your site and I absolutely love it!! I don't do mini's but I'd love to learn how. The things you do are amazing...would you feel like helping me learn some basics?:) I've always been fasinated with mini's and always wanted an elaborate dollhouse to decorate. I remember a girl I knew as a kid had a huge dollhouse and I'd go to her house just to spend hours playing with it...I don't remember her much or even her name but man, I remember that house. Even if you don't want to teach me how to get started, I wanted to tell you that I love your work...Oh, and I would go with the dark blue tile for the countertop, I like blue LOL

Sure, I can help you learn. There are TONS of DIY and tutorials out there, and that's really just where you need to start. What do you want to focus on? Clay? (I can't sew or do woodwork.)

I remember the same from my own childhood. Only, I was friends with her for years (so I remember her name, lol) and only found out about her huge dollhouse (hidden in her basement) during in middle school. I was obsessed with it too! Gosh, it had to have at least a dozen rooms, all packed with amazing stuff. They bought it all, didn't make it, so I would say it was worth $1,000s! I couldn't afford stuff like that, so I began making my own.

Hehe, I like blue too. I haven't done anything with the kitchen lately. I was afraid of this, I have a bad habit of putting things off (because of my lack of decision making ability), then they just sit.

Wow...opening a door like what I want to start with is a biggie LOL I'd love to learn to make the cakes like you have and I sew some so I could make some blankets, pillows, beddings, towels, ect. for when I get a house. I know you said that you got your house at a yardsale but I haven't got one so that will be a save-up thing.

Believe it or not, I was thinking about this while I was doing dishes and I was thinking it would be so neat to do a replica house of my grandparents home in Michigan. I remember most of it from my childhood but I'm a little lost on how you figure out measurements. Like most of your stuff says something like 1:23...not sure what that means. How did you make all the little cake boxes and stuff? Those are so cool. I'll start doing some google searches but maybe there's something really basic I could start on. I'm so excited about learning this...your great to help me learn.
