Should a couple get a divorce after 30 years?  

it is hard to understand this situations unless you are not experiencing it. once you are on that person shoes then it would be easy analyzing it. my parents called it quits after 30 years (i guess) of married life. i guess its better that way than quarreling all the time, if not quarreling they ignore each other. whats fun about that. how can you live with someone who does not even care about you anymore. of course it is hard for others to think about that... for the years together was just thrown away. so before settling down make sure you found someone who is perfectly fit for you

Well let us just say that there are just late bloomers around and they want to correct what remains in their later life. I think it is a matter of tolerance there are times that you realize it later that we would be happier if we would separate than live all your life unhappy.

Sometimes there were many consideration to think of like the children welfare etc.etc. maybe after 40 years they have no factors that hinders them from being free from each other. I think we should understand that fact that there are marriages that are not made in heaven.

I have been with my girlfriend for 4 years now and whenever we break up we have to get back together. I don't know how someone could let go after being with someone for that long. If the love dies out after 40 years I would think that there was never even love at all.

Sometimes a marraige is not that great. Perhaps after 30 to 40 years after both partners retire from their jobs and they are around each other even more they get the idea that they would be happier alone. If they have childern the are mostly grown adults and on ther own. Their home is usually paid for by then so I say why be miserable together. Split everything 50/50 and go your separate ways.

This kinda sound weird, but as they say "it's never too late". Although I feel sorry for the couple but since its their life, it's their decision. But then again life is too short. I can only wish them luck. Cheers!

Lol 40 years is a long time to know a person well, couples need to understand each other well, here in my country i feel this situation will not come at all , divorce is usually rare .
