Hmmm, I'm not sure about the frozen sandwich. What do you put in it?

I used to make sandwiches with lunch meat and cheese, now its jut a couple of slices of cheese with mustard - can't freeze mayo or miracle whip. But I don't like mayo except in tuna or egg salad.

Interesting. I would never have thought about which condiments freeze before this discussion. I don't like mayo either.

I knew someone who planned a party and tried freezing egg salad - disastrously! But I've since seen it that it doesn't freeze.

Yuck! What was this person thinking?

Well, if I had the time I would make a real breakfast with pancakes and tofu and maybe potatoes but lately the mornings have been too busy at my other home and when I am alone in my primary home I don't do it because I don't have a kitchen.

If you can not get wheat roast you can use tofu. Cut it in cubes, marinate and then fry it. For the potatoes you need some cut up onion and a little of your favorite seasoning. Cut the potatoes in small pieces; heat some oil then add the onions and after a minute or two add the potatoes. It is almost like stir frying. When the potatoes are done at the tofu.

I love tofu and potato. I used to do it with oyster say, garlic and bell pepper--yummy, healthy and affordable.

Very affordable! I can get a package of tofu at the health food store for less than $2 and prepare at least two meals with it.

that's really a cost-less food but healthy and nutritious. i just had tofu this weekend!

I love tofu. If I had a kitchen I would probably have tofu at least once every day.

It is a very long story but I live in three rooms attached to the family house and the rooms are not completely finished. I have half of a bathroom and no real furniture, no cabinets and no shelves -- which means no storage.

sorry to hear that friend... you're strong enough to handle things like that... i just can't imagine your struggle. You may be used to it but you deserve a better ONE.

It could always be worse. We do what we have to do to manage and survive. It is better than not having a home or living someplace that is shabby or not safe. It will all get completed eventually.

Well, me? just finished with our project meeting. we just received a new international grant for maternal and child health and adolescent reproductive health program. the focus will be more on training women and youth to be motivators and educator and there will also be medical service provision.

You must have day time when I have night time. I am getting ready to go to bed soon and it sounds like you have just finished work for the day.

I wasn't sure if you got to spend much time with them. I barely get to see my nephew. His mother won't let him out of her sight. He's 9. LOL

Got good news yeterday -- the radiator was not the source of the leak! The intake was clogged on the return line and that was causing the car to overheat. The water came running out yesterday (finally) and I was able to see where the flow was and call my guy and tell him exactly where the problem was. He checked the area to be sure there was nothing he overlooked but he had a suspicion based on the fact he had tried to clear the line before when we found out the car had been hit. Thing is, if it hadn't happened I might never have realized about the damage.

Hey that is good news. At least that shouldn't cost you much. Best of all it's not replacing something you already had replaced. I'm glad that happened for you.

Today I kept forgetting to add water and of course the car overheated and it actually stalled on me. Can't wait to replace that friggin part!

Oh, geez. I just asked if the car was fixed. I guess not. When are you getting that done? I bet you can't wait! I know if I didn't have a vehicle I would go crazy. I may not use it that much, but it is comforting to know it's there if you need it. LOL

No idea. Whenever he gets to it. I left a message this morning. I have to add water but I can drive.

At least you can drive it. That's important! I just went online browsing for toys. I don't know what I am going to do as far as gifts. So far I haven't gotten any requests. As far as my son is concerned, he has more toys than he plays with. For Christmas, I swear I am going to buy 20 packs of AA batteries just so all of his toys work again. LOL

Watch the Sunday papers; from now until Xmas I am sure they will have batteries on sale!

I just went to my profile and checked my activity to be sure and saw that my comment before didn't seem to make it when the connection was having issues earlier. The short version is that the car stalled o the exit ramp coming back from across the river and the brakes locked up on me! I couldn't stop and I went into the wall! It's in a curve but the only thing messed up was my tire. Can you believe that?

Oh gosh, you sure did get lucky. Your angel was riding with you. I'm glad you didn't get hurt. Don't you love power steering and power brakes? You can tell the difference when the motor isn't running. I lost my brakes once, but at least the vehicle was still running so I drove it home. That's what happens when you let someone who has been drinking work on your vehicle. LOL He was an alcoholic so he seemed to function better drunk.

A drunk mechanic? Is this another one of your down-home country stories? Was he the 37 year old married to the 18 year old? Just kidding.

The only thing I think I have ever had a fear of is losing my breaks. When the clutch master went out a while ago I got in the car and one of my pedals was missing! Long story short I went down there and pulled it back out and had to d rive home from work in second gear. Turns out the clutch and brake systems both feed off the same line and I needed brake fluid.

Well, if you know anything at all about cars you know that the brake system is closed and, unlike oil, you never just add more fluid because it should never be low. It turned out the brake fluid was leaking through the cylinder, which is in the car, which means it was on my floor mats...

Well, one guy diagnosed the problem accurately and I put brake fluid in and everything worked fine. He was supposed to fix it but that didn't work out so I moved on to someone else. That person told me Mercedes and BMW cars were a piece of sh*t so I tracked down the person who had gone with me when I first checked out the car.

Good grief. You do have a lot of problems with mechanics. I never really found an honest one so I don't know if there are any. LOL. I had vehicles towed to more shops than I knew existed.

No, I did have problems. The one I have now is working out just fine. He may take a little while to get things done but they get done and he doesn't charge me a fortune to do it either.

That's good he is a decent person. I am glad you are able to get your stuff worked on at a reasonable price. Most of the time you pay an arm and a leg.

This one place wanted all my limbs and then some! My guy changed a hose and clamps and no more problem.

That is the one thing I hate to do is to have a vehicle worked on. I can go for simple oil changes and they will forget to tighten the oil plug. I mean seriously!

Why doesn't your husband change the oil? Isn't he a mechanic?

He does change the oil. Before we got married I either did it or I would take it somewhere. After a couple of times of having to tighten the plug on the oil pan I decided to do it myself. Glad I married him. He changes the oil and if he doesn't have time I will take it somewhere. That's not very often though.

I am glad I have not had to do it myself with the BMW but I am equally glad it would not be that complicated if I were.

The worst part about changing the oil is getting dirty. LOL If you don't know that you have to undo the plug then, you might have a problem. LOL

Yeah and my mechanic hates getting dirty! You should see him putting on all kinds of protective stuff. He looks like a mad scientist!

LOL. That's too funny. He doesn't like getting dirty and he's a mechanic! He should have learned to fix computers instead!

He can fix all kind of stuff. He works on houses too!

Well that's really good. He is truly a handy man. I think people like that are few and far between. That shows he isn't afraid of work.

Wow! You are sooooooooooo organized! The only day I have time to make a real breakfast is on Sundays and my other half usually wants to go out to brunch. Not that I am complaining since most times we go to our favorite Indian restaurant.

This morning it was a tofu sandwich. That is the most breakfast I will probably have all week! The freezer compartment on the fridge is really small and needs to be defrosted -- like I have time for that! Can't keep too much fresh stuff on hand or it will go bad before I use it. Ah, well...

Oragina is a carbonated drink made from orange juice. You can basically create the same thing at home by adding OJ to mineral water.

Oh so it it s a soda, except without the added stuff that soda has? It's just oranges and mineral water? That's pretty cool.

I just threw out the bottle that I had from yesterday but I think it's pretty much carbonated water and something like 12% OJ.

I had a tofu sandwich yesterday morning. I think I had a cereal bar today.

Yes, I get up at 6AM instead of 7AM. Works way better. My worklife works like this. If I get called to substitute teach, then that's what I do (they call between 6:15 and 7:30, must be to work by 7:45 or 8:00). IF I don't get called to sub, I call the lady for cleaning and/or the lady for the herb company. One or the other will take me. Some days, if I have the time and energy, I sub and then go work for the herb company. Or if I work only half a day as a sub, then I call around for the second half of the day and usually get either cleaning or herb company work. If I get up at 7, then really hard to get to the school on time without running around like crazy.

Tofu sandwich, you must be vegetarian. I couldn't face that for breakfast.

Nope. I eat fish.
