I bought a smaller netbook because this one was to big to sit at the same coffee table as my wife when she uses her lappy. I paid 229 for it brand new as PC World knocked a bit off because its not supposed to be Pristine, but I reckon its as Pristine as Pristine can be. Cash Only. View Here, or if you cant get here, viewing can be arranged in your dwelling. All you chaps who would have us believe you would like the computer for your terminally ill relative in Africa, dont even bother. Its not happening, you must think we all came up the Nile on an Egyptian Banana Boat, The last time I sold anything on here I must have told about 100 of you that the best part of you just may have leaked out of your maternal parent at roughly the same time you were conceived and that said maternal parent neglected to take even a mental note of who her sperm donor was. I am positive that the first genuine reply will result in this item being sold, So best not put off until tomorrow, that which you can do today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So thats his advert and if the moderators let it go, it should be live anytime soon. Its not funny, but the last time he sold a computer on Gumtree he must have had about 120 replies, and more than 90 percent of the replies were from folks wanting to pay more for it, pay by paypal and have it shipped to deepest darkest Africa. Scammers, they say they need your paypal email and then pull a fast one, they have worked out a scam where people do part with the goods, but never see the money, we dont know how it works, but it must do because the mails just keep coming Its even worse, much worse with the cars he advertises, I thought he was going to stick the head on someone today, I really did. A guy walked in to the drive and wanted to look at the cars. He said he liked this White Zetec Fiesta, a 51 Plate which my husband had priced at 1250. Parkers price guide said this particular car was worth about 1500 according to age, mileage and condition. The guy said he didnt have 1250 and my husband said make me a reasonable offer, (we paid 750 for it). The guy said 300. My husband looked at him and suggested he take up comedy, and the guy just stood there, arms folded offering this 300 quid. He kept saying, "sell me car for 300" So, husband took him to look at a 1991 Astra and told him he could have it for 300 but the guy stood there demanding the 10 year younger Fiesta. I was waiting on a hidden camera crew jumping out from behind the big Oak tree!! None appeared and the guy just stood there, "sell me car for 300" By now, and this was like 40 minutes, I could see the signs, my normally placid and always eager to keep a customer happy husband looked like he was going to get a tad angry. He said once more to the guy, the only car I have in your price range is the Astra, its a good car. The guy shook his head, and left walked down the drive, Husband came into the house, a bit bewildered at what had just happened, and a knock at the door was heard by it both.I went to the door. It was the same guy, he asked me if my husband could give him a lift into the City, Cove to be exact on the South Side, a good half hour minimum round trip but rush hour, might be nearer an hour and a half. I was in stitches, the tears were starting to well up, I told him to hold on, and went and got a surprisingly calm husband, who amazingly nodded and he took the keys for the Astra and threw them to the guy and said "you drive" The Astra although old was in really good nick, body work great, 10 months MOT and a bit of road tax as well. 36k miles so really low and immaculate inside. One lady owner and my husband bought it from Solicitors acting for a family of an old woman who had died. It was like a new car and we only paid 100 quid for it. Truth is it was a better car than the Fiesta. But 18 years old, no real value. About an hour later I see the Astra come back into the drive and then it drove straight out again, In he walks, big smile on his face waving 300 quid at me, The guy had bought the Astra, amazing, and thats why he agreed to give the guy a lift because he knew he would find it a good car especially driving it. Everything had been tightened and tuned, and it drives really well. But there was a downside, he forgot to syphon the petrol from the car as there was almost a full tank, 10 gallons or something, and normally cars leave here with a max of 2 gallons in them. I know he is tight, but petrol is almost 5 gbp per gallon here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, all that and all I really want to ask is if you the reader have any funny for sale stories at all. Oh, and his ad is good for the laptop, isnt it? Hope Gumtree Mods think so, |
