Dogs barking grr!!

i have a neighbor right now that does this.dog barks outside and inside the house.
barkbarkbark all day long.

i'd probably report it to the cops after awhile.ten to one you won't be the only complaint in that area.

I would call animal control on them.. It is against the law in most states to leave a dog chained up in a yard...Lori

My neighbor had dogs before. And they're barking non-stop at night. I can't get to sleep but they seem to not care if their neighbors are annoyed by there dogs. So what I did was sneak into their yard and cut the dogs chain. Hahaha. I know I was crazy but I really can't stand their dogs anymore.:p

Easily, I would tell them once that it disturbed our sleep, then I would call the cops for noise disturbance and animal control over cruelty and neglect issues.

I wouldn't think much of a neighbor who did this. I think less of them as a pet owner. Check with your police department about noise ordinances. Times can vary, but for most communities it's the overnight hours. Some towns have ordinances for daylight hours too, for some sounds...like barking dogs. Good luck!

grrrrr is right!!! I have a dog and I also know how annoying it can be to hear this nonstop barking!
We have a kennel some ways from us actually but you can hear those german shepherds bark and bark if something is up there.. it carries well on a mountain. It lasts NOT so long and the owners put a halt to it once they are out to the kennels to assess the problem.

BUT,, THAT is one situation.. to have a neighbour tie up his dog outside to relieve itself, while HE is inside showering and eating breakfast and so on.. is thoughtless and irresponsible. Why is the dog tied up otherwise just at those times???? Doesn't it go for a walk and then in for breakfast??? and late at night,, Is this another tie up for the last minute night pee before lights out??

Do you have an ordinance law you can use to complain about disturbance of the peace?..We see alot of shows here from Texas and New York about animal abuse and I know there at least one can complain about noise..
The other option of course is to talk yourself to the neighbour and that is often tricky.. Thoughtless neighbours seldom accept any kind of criticism..no matter how carefully put.. ever noticed that?

hmmm I have a neighbor like this.
altho the dog isnt on a chain for we have closed in backyards.
after the years I have got used to it dont bother me any more.

I am afraid i may be like the neighbor u are talking about right now[i hope not]. My dog stays in the house but my son & family sold their house & didn't have anywhere to put their 2 labs so they ended up in my backyard,. they are in a pen but they do bark alot & i'm very afraid they are bothering my neighbors because at times they bother me.Things happen that u can't control sometimes when your kids are concerned, lol.

That is one of the things that drives me absolutely bonkers. Why do people put their dogs outside and totally ignore their barking for hours? We have a neighbor that does this sometimes. It's always around 11pm - 1am when we're trying to sleep. I keep earplugs in my nightstand which come in handy. Either that or call the police.

I already hate the part about them putting the dog on the chain. grrrrrrrrrr.............
