Bad references

You might consider not choosing to use them as a reference source. Alternatively, if you're being asked why you left your last place of employment, state the reasons, and any courses of action you took in an attempt to resolve the reasons before you quit and walked out.

We all have a bottom line of what treatment we will and will not accept. Kudos to you for being aware of what your bottom line is, and for having the guts to walk out of a bad situation.

My wife had a very bad experience when she applied for a sales job.
On her first day of work, she followed her boss for field trip. The boss
is a very moody person and scolded 4 letter words on his other sales
personnel on the cell phone. He seems like double character and split
personality. My wife got a shock of her life and decided to tender resignation
the evening itself. She never put the 'one day job' as a reference at all

Hi there marysia66, for me I look at it this way if you were not at the job for more than say 6 months it makes little sense to put them as a refrence I have always told myself if an employer wants me they would over look at some places I worked anyway. And really life happens we sometimes get jobs that were never worth our time anyway so just be honest if you feel the need to put it down and if it pertains to the job you are applying for. If not I wouldnt worry about it anyway, I hope this helps and happy mylotting to you as well.

Hi, marysia66. Yes, I have quit a job before. But I did not just walk out. I did inform my Unit Manager that I was quitting. As far as using this job as a reference, I would not use it. I know that they will give me a bad name, especially my old supervisor. This job I can't come back to ever. It keeps on saying that I am ineligible for rehire.. WTF???
